Early Childhood Special Education Teacher Position begins January 3, 2017. Knowledge in research-based best practices and differentiation Responsibilities: Plan and implement individualized instruction designed to meet the educational needs of children on IEPs and IFSPs Creates a learning environment conducive to the learning needs of children with disabilities Encourages student success by collaborating with classroom teachers and assisting with accommodations and modifications when appropriate Provide families with service coordination supports in order to meet their needs Conducts and carries out educational assessments Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law and district procedures New Prague Area Schools is a consistently growing district of 3,900 students, Pre K through 12. The district is located about 45 miles southwest of the Twin Cities. Instructional Support – Grade 3

There are two part-time (.5 FTE) positions available at Hilltop Elementary for the remainder of the 2016-17 school year. These positions will provide push-in instructional support to grade 3 classrooms and will work in the mornings, M-F.

2017-18 Elementary K-6 Chinese Immersion Teachers

1. Demonstrate native or near native fluency in Mandarin Chinese. (“Superior” rating under the ACTFL Proficiency Guildelines). 2. Demonstrate English Language proficiency to allow communication with parents. 3. Demonstrate successful experience in Total Physical Response (TPR) methdology for teaching in an immersion program. 4. Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the District approved curriculum to the needs of each pupil. 5. Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences. 6. Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere. 7. Evaluate pupils’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records in a timely fashion prepare progress reports. 8. Identify pupil needs and make appropriate referrals and develop strategies for individual education plans. 9. Maintain a professional day, as defined by building/and contract. 10. Communicate regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of Schoology, newsletters, phone calls, e-mails, conferences, etc. 11. Work in a supportive and collaborative manner with colleagues and supervisors. 12. Maintain and improve professional skills by participating in building and department meetings, formal coursework, workshops, and seminars in an effort to stay current with best teaching practices. 13. Participate in a professional learning community on a regular basis. 14. Integration of technology into instruction. 15. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

2017-18 Elementary K-6 Spanish Immersion Teachers
