INSTRUCTIONAL PARAPROFESSIONAL

This is a school term, job level 4 ($17.32-17.67/hour), 32.75 hours/week position in the Early Childhood Family Education Program. The work hours are: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays: 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. with a half hour duty free lunch Thursdays: 7:30 a.m. 2:45 p.m. with a half hour duty free lunch The purpose of this position is to assist teachers in the instruction of students. This position also includes four additional work periods for special events. Additional hours may be available to work as a child care worker.

LANGUAGE FACILITATOR

This is a school term, job level 5 ($18.06-18.41/hour), 7.0 hours/day (7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a half hour duty free lunch) position at the elementary level. The purpose of this position is to facilitate communication for a deaf/hard of hearing student(s) and assist the special education teacher(s) in the instruction of students. Applicants should have a background and/or knowledge of hearing loss and American Sign Language. Deadline: Open Until Filled

SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONALS

Special education paraprofessionals are job level 4 ($17.32-17.67/hour), school term, variable hours per day positions that assist in the instruction of students. Positions may be available in the following areas: SPECIAL EDUCATION- candidates must be able to lift, change diapers, assist with special medical procedures and restrain students (training will be provided), students may have individual education plans in regular and special education settings; BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT-candidates should have experience working with children who have behavior and/or emotional problems. Because behavior paraprofessionals may need to physically restrain students on occasion, applicants must be in good physical health and willing to restrain students after receiving training; PARAPROFESSIONAL FOR SEVERE/PROFOUND-persons in these positions work with students that are developmentally handicapped. In addition to assisting with academic instruction, candidates must be able to lift, change diapers, assist with special medical procedures, and restrain students, training will be provided. Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

Provides direct and indirect instructional services to infants, ages birth through two, and/or their families as specified. Screens and/or assesses infants referred for potential ECSE services. Assists in making special education placement deceptions and developing outcomes and instructional objectives. Prepares and maintains an efficient schedule for delivery of services. Works cooperatively with special education support personnel, families and other service providers. Assures compliance with special education procedural requirements and due process timelines.
