College Readiness – work with American Indian students on college planning steps, personal awareness and academic preparedness. Continue to pursue personal professional growth through attendance at workshops, conferences, courses, and current relevant readings. Work with principals and building leadership teams to monitor the progress of American Indian students and support adjustment to programs to increase effectiveness. Assist PLCs and individual teachers with interpreting student data, using it to inform instruction, as well as designing and implementing culturally relevant and engaging curriculum and materials. Coordinate student data collection with Curriculum and Instruction to summarize student results. Collaborate with elementary literacy and math coaches to address the needs of American Indian students. Facilitate college field trips and assist with financial aid and tribal enrollment processes. Facilitate intercultural events that develop awareness among students, parents and staff.
2nd Grade Teacher
Provide academic instruction in a 2nd grade classroom. The duties include, but not limited to; literacy, math, science, social studies, and art instruction. Teachers also are expected to assess, monitor and adapt their instruction based on the individual needs of students. Teachers also participate in PLC’s and work with peers to enhance their instructional ability and to support each other.
