THIS IS A FULL TIME TEACHING POSITION IN OUR DCD PROGRAM AT BRAINERD HIGH SCHOOL. TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE TECHNICAL MATH AND VOCATIONAL SKILLS. THE POSITION ALSO INCLUDES CASE MANAGEMENT OF APPROXIMATELY 9 STUDENTS. THE DCD PROGRAM INCLUDES THREE FULL TIME DCD TEACHERS AND A SUPPORT TEAM OF EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANTS.
Special Education DCD Teacher
Language Arts Teacher
Assess, instruct and monitor students in the area of language arts; create database of student assessment results; follow school-wide discipline procedures; supervise and monitor students in small classroom settings; demonstrate strong classroom management skills; contribute to team concept.
Family & Consumer Science Teacher
This position is for a part time at Brainerd High School. The teaching assignment may include Foods 9, Foods, Child Development, and/or Living on your own.
Math Teacher (2303)
1. Assess, instruct and monitor students in the area of math. 2. Create database of student assessment results. 3. Make connections with students and staff. 4. Follow school-wide discipline procedures. 5. Supervise and monitor students in small classroom settings. 6. Demonstrate strong classroom management skills. 7. Develop lessons that engage students. 8. Contribute to team concept. 9. Assist students that struggle in math.
Language Arts Teacher (.5 FTE)
Instruction of high school students in the subject area of Language Arts. Responsible for preparing lessons, instructing and assessing student learning, collecting and analyzing student data to plan instruction, creating an engaging and respectful classroom environment, communicating with students, parents, and multiple stakeholders, maintaining accurate records, reflecting, and growing professionally.
Industrial Technology Education / Art Teacher (.5 FTE)
Provide instruction with a focus on graphic arts and photography:*Prepare lessons that are connected with the approved standards and curriculum for the course; *Engage students in the field; *Create an engaging and respectful classroom environment; *Communicate effectively with students, parents and staff; *Focus on student growth. (There are numerous coaching and advising positions available.)
