High School Guidance Counselor Long Term Substitute Chanhassen High School For specific information contact Tim Dorway at [email protected] Position Dates: Approximately 2/4/2017 – 4/1/2017 Days/Hours: 1.0 FTE Responsible To: Building Principal Position Purpose: This position would work with 9-12 grade students that are in need of academic, social and emotional support. The position will include: facilitate support groups, study strategies, time management/organization, new student group, and implement interventions for struggling students. Position would coordinate academic interventions between teachers and students. Counselor must exhibit ability to manage and track multiple students’ academic progress and needs, act as a liaison between EL department, teachers, Deans, and School Counselors. This position will require attention to detail, knowledge of googledocs, and the ability to collaborate with multiple staff in the building. WORK SCHEDULE: These positions will be on-call Monday through Friday as needed. Job duties include but are not limited to: -Provide appropriate and effective classroom instruction in an individualized manner to offender students when substituting in a literacy classroom. -Maintain a well-managed, comprehensive instructional environment to support offender Personal Education Plans. -Perform all administrative functions in a timely manner for accountability purposes.
