ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor, fix, and maintain: Network and Infrastructure topology Phone topology including voice over IP phone system Wireless network architecture Card access Video surveillance system Audio visual systems Interface with vendor support to maintain fiber connectivity in the district Interface with vendor support in the research and purchase of all forms of related technology Provide telephone and/or on site support and remotely solve problems related to the network Maintain and document network technology hardware such as switches, routers, and other equipment attached to the network Provide maintenance for Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) in the district Provide support for the district Food Service data management system Backup to system administrator Shared Responsibilities: Identify risk and recommend actions to mitigate the exposure to the district’s network and services from security issues/viruses/spam, …etc. Work with Technology Department team members on related projects Coordinate and assist in the deployment of new technology equipment and systems Plan, implement, install, and manage the district Local and Wide Area Networks Assist in monitoring ISP service Assist in the backup, restoration and repair of energy management systems (ie. Johnson controls, Allerton, …etc) Provide documentation of network technology hardware, such as switches, routers, and other equipment attached to the network for data communication purposes Maintain a current awareness of knowledge of emerging information, trends, and applications for networks, network security and network applications technologies Participate in appropriate professional activities Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Technology to accomplish the objectives and goals of the department
