Program Supervisor
Position Title: Program Supervisor Department: Special Services: Responsible to: Director of Special Services Position information: Program Supervisor is responsible to promote high quality educational programming to meet the learning needs of students receiving services at Austin Albert Lea Area Special Education Cooperative. Position Requirements: Must hold a valid Teaching license in K-12 content and/or Special Education Must hold a valid Minnesota administrative license Preferred to have a K-12 Principal and Director of Special Services Other Skills and Abilities: Five + years of successful teaching experience, with a minimum of three years of experience working with special education students/programs preferred. Must have strong knowledge of instructional strategies, curriculum and best practices to support student growth. Must have strong knowledge of positive behavioral support development and practice. Essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following: * Program administrator * Monitor student needs and program delivery to ensure state and federal guidelines are met. * Provides instructional support, professional development opportunities and program development * Supervises staff at AALASEC * Assists with maintaining and monitoring student Individual Education Plan files; monitor case managers with maintaining of student Individual Education Plan files. * Assists the Director of Special Services/Cooperative in screening and selecting certified staff; and recruitment, selection, and training of Special Education paraprofessionals and volunteers. * Schedule, supervise, and evaluate Special Services teachers and classified staff in program. * Collaborate with cooperative districts regarding special transportation; determine transportation accommodations per IEP teams and report to home districts. * Lead and attend staff meetings, in-services, and other professional development activities as determined by the Cooperative and home district Directors of Special Services. * All other duties as assigned by the Cooperative School Board and Advisory Board.
Director of Equity (.5 FTE)
Job Summary: Provides leadership to, and works in collaboration with, the cabinet and the school board to improve policies and procedures which support an equitable environment for all students and staff. Supports the development, implementation and evaluation of the District’s equity vision. Promotes human resource practices to increase diversity of staff and employee satisfaction. Duties & Responsibilities: *Directs an inter-cultural developmental equity training plan which uses a common language framework to promote explicit conversation in problem solving and planning for better student outcomes. Acts as a resource on equity issues for faculty in their work with students and in curriculum and program development. *Provides equity leadership and monitoring to District curriculum review teams. Works with Educational Services to provide direction for selection of curriculum materials that will enhance the Equity Vision and district mission. *Evaluates and reviews student programming to ensure adherence to the District Equity Vision. Works in collaboration with other District administrators, principals and building teams to analyze student data and recommend equitable practices to improve student outcomes. *Acts as a resource and recommends strategies on equity issues in the areas of staff recruitment and retention to HR department and administrators. *Leads the development, implementation and integration of inter cultural competence in district-wide evaluation systems. *Coordinates District partnerships within the greater Minneapolis/St Paul community focused on equity. May work as a liaison between Northeast Metro 916 and member districts to promote and support equity efforts across the collaborative. *Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Learning Disabilities Teacher – River Bend ALC
Develops and designs curriculum which addresses student’s needs and is consistent with the mission of the ALC. Serves as IEP manager for students assigned to the ALC. This includes completion of all necessary due process forms and adherence to due process timelines and other requirements. Conducts classroom instruction based on established lesson plans or instructional units. Monitors student behavior and performance, and deals with problem behaviors within the context of program rules and policies. Communicates with parents via parent-teacher conferences and IEP meetings, as necessary. Interprets student strengths, weaknesses, and/or problems the child may be experiencing in the classroom and in other’s classrooms. Collaborates with other ALC teachers in evaluating individual student problems, approaches to instruction, and new teaching technologies or procedures available. Develops student tests and evaluate results. Determines student grades for instructional units.
