Theater Teacher, Lower and Middle School ,(.80) FTE
Theater Teacher: This is a .80 FTE benefited position beginning August 2016. This position is for theater classes in both the Lower and Middle School programs. The ideal candidate should exhibit a wide range of teaching skills, have significant theater arts content knowledge, and have the ability to engage motivated students to learn. The candidate should have experience with stage productions, and be comfortable directing high quality shows in the Middle and Upper School. Special Education Supervisor
The Special Education Supervisor will manage staff and programming. The Supervisor accomplishes this by working with the Director of Special Education to develop and conduct training, facilitate IEP meetings and establish data collection systems. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with all Minnesota Department of Education rules and statutes, supervising and developing a highly qualified staff, managing budget, ensuring curriculum quality and continuous improvement, communicating with the school district, attending staff meetings along with Austin Public Schools leadership team to address educational issues, serving as an education liaison with internal departments and external agencies, providing crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when appropriate, and ensuring all staff maintain appropriate boundaries and relationships.
