This position works with the school and families promoting a positive learning environment for general and special education students; screen and identify students through consultation with parents, staff and community agency personnel including collection and evaluating appropriate student records and developing and implementing interventions to allow students to be successful; write and present social work assessment summaries and recommendations for educational planning and social work services; maintain and facilitate the transition of students between schools or programs; serve as a resource to building staff regarding identifying and reporting child abuse and neglect. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, facilitating support groups, supervision of students and outreach efforts.
