ESP – Instructional (Temporary) – HQ

Job summary:  Assist the classroom teacher with instructional tasks, working directly with a student.  These tasks will constitute the major portion of the para time. Temporary Instructional ESP in a Kindergarten Grade Classroom 1 to 1.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

Work directly with the student individually or in small groups on academic and social skills, e.g., math, science, English, decision making, self-esteem building, etc.
Assist student with self regulation skills.
Assist students and teachers in large group activities/projects.
Seek out special instructional materials to assist with students having particular learning problems, e.g., separate math skill worksheet.
Type on word processor worksheets, tests, or various instructional material; duplicate and assemble.
Perform other duties as assigned by principal or designee.
Minimum qualifications include:

Applicants must be Highly Qualified – Applicants meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have:Two years of study at an institution of higher education; Minnesota’s standard; A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR
An Associate’s (or higher) degree; Minnesota’s standard: An AA, AS, AAS, (or higher) degree OR
Received a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment within 30 days of your start date, working in a Title I school must be Highly Qualified in accordance with MDE.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

Persons employed shall have the skills needed to perform tasks and work with children, staff and parents.
Must have physical capability to lift and attend to physical needs of students as required.
Participation in district training program prior to and during employment.
Demonstrable ability to work with children.
Computer and word processing experience helpful.

Support Application Specialist III

Job summary: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by managing the student information system, including user training, hardware and software problem solving, on-site and hotline support, and coordinating District MARSS system and reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Providing technical support to District users of the Student Information Systems.
Investigating, researching, documenting, reporting and solving problems encountered that effect Osseo’s use of the Student Data Systems.
Monitoring student data.
Providing technical support to District Administrators related to student records.
Developing and revise user friendly documentation for proper use of the Student Information Systems.
Providing training and instruction to system users.
Retraining staff on new releases of software and updating users on new state requirements.
Planning, organizing, executing and managing student information system procedures and timelines to ensure proper operation of the student data system to meet District and State requirements.
Coordinating and directing the District’s operation of, and compliance with, the MARSS system to ensure proper accounting of student data to be used for District and State reporting.
Monitoring and directing activities of personnel associated with MARSS system.
Monitoring the system integrity and security.
Insuring and maintaining the confidentiality of district data files.
Designing and generating customized reports as necessary to meet the needs of the District and building administrators and staff.
Analyzing users’ requests and determining if local customized applications can be utilized. If so, designing customized applications. If not, recommending program enhancements to district vendor.
Serve as primary contact for all federal, state and district compliance tuition billing reporting.
Complete all federal, state and district compliance reporting as required.
Monitor and assess non-district students to ensure appropriate enrollment and tuition billing
Prepare and receive tuition bills for students receiving special education services.
Ensure compliance with data privacy guidelines.
Work with Transportation department to arrange transportation for students who attend District 287
Ensure optimal communication with multiple stakeholders.
Performing other duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
Qualifications: Minimum of Associate’s Degree or a two year college or technical school certification required. Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Coursework in Computer Application Support, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field. Desired minimum of three years District experience using system applications. If working in Special Education Systems, experience is preferred in tuition billing. Experience should include: work direction, training, report writing, word processing, spreadsheets, and working with application end users and software.

Essential knowledge and specialized subject knowledge required to perform the essential functions of the job:
Demonstrable ability to manage large data processing application including design, implementations, training and coordination.
Ability to communicate effectively with others; possess strong verbal and written skills.
Ability to analyze and solve difficult problems and design temporary work-arounds.
Ability to analyze and attend to details with high degree of accuracy.
Ability to work efficiently under the pressure of project deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time, Class V
Hourly Rate Range: $24.40 to $31.48 per hour
