Job Summary
The Licensed School Health Associate will assist the professional staff in the total implementation of the Health Services program.

Essential Functions
The Licensed School Health Associate is an RN or LPN.  At no time should they be expected to provide professional service or substitute for a licensed school nurse.  The Licensed School Health Associate will confer with the Licensed School Nurse regarding health issues within the building.  The Licensed School Nurse will delegate any nursing responsibilities to the Licensed School Health Associate as appropriate.

2023-24 Speech Language Pathologist Long Term Sub, 1.0 FTE, Dates: 12/15/23-3/11/24

1.  Identify students with speech and/or language needs and provide programming based on Individual Education Plans.
2.  Complete required due process procedures within mandated timeframes to include evaluations and Individual Education Plans.
3.  Develop and implement pre-ferral interviews for pupils referred for speech and language assessment to assist in establishing a need and possible services.
4.  Conduct personal conferences with parents.
5.  Collection and submission of data as required for third party reimbursement.

This position will be responsible for:

Supporting curriculum, instruction, assessment, content integration and professional development for all schools.
Identifying and/or leading development of standards-aligned curriculum and assessments.
Designing and leading professional development focused on culturally sustaining curriculum and pedagogy in health and physical education.
Support school leadership teams and teachers in improving instruction.
Support the district’s strategic plan and key goals focused on equity, literacy, & social emotional learning within a multi-tiered system of support.

Position Functions, Duties, Responsibilities:

Facilitate district Health and Physical Education programs
Implement strategies that reduce/eliminate racial disparities in student outcome and course enrollments.
Ensure that strategies for specific students, including English learner support, Special Education services, and advanced learner support are integrated seamlessly into core curriculum and professional development.
Ensure alignment of physical education instructional practices and assessments with the Minnesota Academic Standards.
Lead process of creating/adopting culturally relevant instructional materials which support standards-based teaching and learning and integration of literacy and content.
Facilitate conversations amongst community organizations to gather input in developing, vetting, and revising curricular resources.
Collaborate with District-wide departments (i.e. Equity and Integration, Social Emotional Learning and Student Wellness).
Design and lead professional development on health and physical education curriculum, instruction, and assessment for school leaders and teachers.
Build the capacity of school leadership teams to support continuous improvement in teaching and learning at the site.
Build relationships and collaborate within MPS schools, in addition to content experts, non-profits, community groups, and other allies in our work.
Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned. There may be times when required to work outside normal business hours and work extended hours to accomplish requirements of the position.
