POSITION:
Administrative Assistant (Enrollments focus)– Pines School – 8 hours per day – 7:15 to 3:15.
200 work days per year (includes 9 paid holidays)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Goes into the residential building each morning to enroll students.
Enter information into Campus SIS system.,
Request records from previous school, send records when students depart.
Maintain cumulative files.
Help with tuition billing for Pines students.
Works with the Special Education Lead Teacher to organize files.
Make and receive calls to other districts getting student information.
Greets all visitors courteously, determines their needs, checks appointments, and directs or escorts them to the appropriate person.
Manages daily attendance reporting.
Prepares documents for the school such as: faculty handbook, parent/student handbook, school
maps, school newsletters, and calendar of school events.
Provides administrative clerical support services.
Maintains an effective communications retrieval system.
Maintains and monitors the release of student records.
Performs other tasks consistent with the position as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Post high school training required with business and finance experience preferred.
Successful experience in an office setting required.
Demonstrated effective oral and written communications skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all school dealings.
Proven success in keyboarding and computer software required.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work as a positive contributing member of an office team.
Proven, successful experience working with minimal supervision accompanied by successful problem solving skills.
Proven, successful experience relating well to school-aged youth as well as to adults.
Ability to multi-task in a high energy environment.

WAGES/BENEFITS:
As per the current Administrative Assistant/Clerical master agreement. Paid benefit package.

Teaching and Learning Department
1.0 FTE ELL Support and Development Specialist- TOSA
Start Date: ASAP

The ELL Support and Development Specialist – TOSA is responsible for working with ELL staff in implementing the continuous improvement process for the ELL program, working with the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning to administer the assigned budgets, leading the work of English Learner teachers and development and delivering system staff development to teachers and non-teaching personnel to improve services to EL students with the support of Teaching & Learning department.

Job description
● Use state standards to craft a rigorous, objective-driven program
● Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership to continuously build and grow the Bilingual Education program
● Support EL teachers in assessments and placement of students to support student learning.
● Learn and utilize specialized approaches for delivering curriculum to Emerging Bilingual students
● Work with the Teaching and Learning Coordinator to develop standards-aligned, measurable, ambitious goals that will increase opportunities for student achievement, as well as ways to assess and track progress toward said goals
● Coordinate and support EL programming across the district.
● Attend school-wide/district-wide meetings and professional development sessions to stay up-to-date on the academic program, continuously improve practice, and support progress toward the school district’s mission and strategic plan.
● Participate in MDE presentations and training supporting ELL.
● Provide support in gathering data or information for any state or federal reports.

Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree or higher, Master’s preferred
● Experience in researching and developing curriculum, preferred experience in ELL curriculum development
● Ability to attend meetings and training outside the typical contract day as needed
● Must hold a current ELL/ESL license in the state of Minnesota or be able to obtain one
● Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse students preferred
● Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
● Demonstrate knowledge or willingness to learn innovative teaching methods
● Work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a team
● Be dedicated to doing whatever it takes to support all students in achieving academic success
● Demonstrate alignment with the educational philosophy and core beliefs of Centennial Public Schools.

This is a 10-month position, from August to June. The typical work day is teacher work hours, 183 Days with occasional extended times to accommodate staff meetings, learning team meetings, and schoolwide events.

WAGES:
Consistent with the current Teachers’ Master Agreement.

Special Education Assistant (Two positions)

Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department will accept online applications for the position of Special Education Assistant (two positions) at our Middle School and High School for the 2023-24 school year.  This position works 6.5 hours per day plus half hour duty-free lunch, Monday – Friday, school days only.   Riding morning and/or afternoon bus routes may be included with this position.  The rate of pay is $20.16 per hour, based on the 2021-23 Master Agreement between SSP #6 and Local No. 7312, Educational Support Professionals.   This position reports to the Director of Student Services and Building Administrator.

Job Summary
Assist special education teacher in supporting the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in regular and special education setting.  Assist in implementation of classroom programs, including self-care, behavior regulation, and instruction programs.  Accompany special education students on bus routes as required in the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).

Job Functions

Assist students off the bus and into their first class of the day as needed.
Assist students with clothing when needed, clearing locker and escort students to the afternoon or transportation.
Accompany special education students on bus routes as required in the student’s IEP.   As assigned, ride the bus and supervise students as they enter and leave the bus, monitor for behavioral or physical needs to ensure student safety.
Assist students with self-care activities including but not limited to toileting, dressing, eating as required by Case Manager.
Assist students to be safe and socially appropriate on the playground or recess activities.
Follow case manager or special education teacher directions in modifying or accommodating student assignments.
Work within the special education program such as SUN or EBD to assist students with teacher assigned tasks.  Modify or accommodate as directed by the special education teacher
Regularly monitor student progress using collection techniques developed by case manager or special education teacher.
Follow Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Positive Behavior Intervention Support Plan (PBISP) as directed by case manager.
Perform accurate and timely reporting of services and progress for student’s IEP, Third Party Billing records, report cards, progress notes and/or conferences as directed by case manager.
Participate in all required trainings as requested.
Adhere to staff and program guidelines and district procedures and policies.
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, staff, families and community members.
Demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
Other duties as assigned.

Special Education Teacher (DCD) – LTS

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree and a Special Education teaching license with DCD experience preferred.  Must have strong communication skills and previous experience preferred working with IEP goals and the ability to meet critical deadlines.

Job Summary:
Responsible for providing an educational environment that will help students with disabilities in learning and fulfill their growth potential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify the needs of assigned students with disabilities through formal and informal assessments
  • Plan, develop and implement appropriate lessons to ensure the achievement of student growth
  • Communicate with students, parents and staff on a regular basis on student progress
  • Write IEP’s (Individual Educational Plans) and Due Process reports in accordance to MDE regulations
  • Attend department, school and parent meetings
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

Executive Director.  WLA is seeking a full-time Executive Director effective July 1, 2024.

About the Academy

Woodbury Leadership Academy (WLA) is a chartered public school that opened in 2014 and serves approximately 760 students in grades K-8. The mission of WLA is to empower dedicated staff to deliver academically rigorous, Core Knowledge curriculum to students, as well as promoting core virtues, and cultivating leadership skills. The vision of WLA is to be a school where learning empowers students to be future leaders and global citizens.

Beginning in the 2024-2025 school year we will be launching our high school, beginning with 9th grade, and adding a grade level each year thereafter.
