Job Description:

Faribault Public Schools Community Education is seeking a full-time manager position to oversee students, staff, volunteers and programming at the Faribault Education Center. This year-round position is on a 260-day contract and requires flexibility in scheduling based on events; but must include one or two evenings per week. Salary is $68,010 plus benefits. This is a newly created position. Ideal start date is March 1st; however, a flexible start date may be an option based on selected candidate’s availability.

Essential Functions:

Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for diverse students, staff, families and community members
Manage and supervise FEC students, staff, volunteers and programming in collaboration with FEC Coordinator
Oversee, manage, and implement grant requirements, as needed
Collect data for grants and enter into required systems (SID, SaleForce, Workforce One), as needed
Strengthen current workplace ESL programming and expand offsite partnerships
Create and implement program-wide distance learning plan to increase student contact hours
Provide innovative thinking and design systems to enhance course offerings, create efficiencies and improve processes
Plan events for students and staff (open house, registration events, graduation, etc.)
Attend local, regional, and state-wide meetings and professional development related to FEC programming
Manage day-to-day operations when FEC Coordinator is offsite or absent

A position as a Long-term Substitute Special Education K-12 DAPE Teacher is available beginning May 9 and ending September 27, 2024.

Summary of Duties:
Provides special education instruction for students that includes the development of physical fitness, motor fitness, fundamental motor skills and patterns, dance, individual and group games, and sports. Developmental Adapted Physical Education is specifically designed for physical education instruction and services for pupils with disabilities who have a substantial delay or disorder in physical development.

Qualifications Required:
MN licensure required.

Qualifications Preferred:
Licensure in K-12 Physical Education/Developmental Adaptive Physical Education from Minnesota Department of Education.

Maintain contact and communications with parents of students and work with them in the development of each student.

Minimum qualifications include:

Valid Minnesota teaching license in appropriate field.

Preferred qualifications include:

Considerable knowledge of students’ learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.
Considerable knowledge of multicultural, gender and disability fair curriculum concepts.
Working knowledge of instructional technologies.
Considerable skill in classroom management and organization.
Ability to effectively facilitate and/or participate in team meetings and parent meetings.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
