QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a valid secondary teaching license, 9 – 12 FACS or elective area license in the State of Minnesota.
Teachers must be able to demonstrate the highest commitment to student achievement and effective development.
Teachers must have the willingness to adapt to becoming part of a total school effort in educating our students.
Teachers must have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff members, students and parents in providing and promoting positive relationships.
Teachers must be of the highest integrity with a strong commitment to modeling excellence in all aspects of the teacher/student/parent relationships.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

WAGES:

POSITION:
Full-Time Night Custodian – High School- East – 8 hours/day

***Summer hours are 7 AM – 3:30 PM; resume regular hours mid-August.***
Regular hours: 3 PM to 11:30 PM – 260 days per year – Monday thru Friday

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School degree, GED, or equivalent.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of building cleaning skills.
3. Demonstrated positive customer service skills.
4. At least one (1) year of experience in a school custodial position and or equivalent custodial experience.
5. Experienced in basic P.C. operation relating to email, internet, and work order systems.
6. Capable of working cooperatively and congenially with other employees and supervisors.
7. Understanding of and ability to act as a confidential employee regarding staff and students.
8. Motivated, energetic, timely, respectful and a strong proven work ethic.

REPORTS TO: Head Custodian, Building Principal, and Director of Buildings and Grounds Operations as situationally appropriate.

JOB GOAL: To provide for the safe operation and completion of assigned duties to maintain a comfortable and safe environment for students, teachers, other staff personnel and community.

Working Conditions:
All employees subject to hazards are equipped and trained per OSHA standards.
Subject to work with biohazard waste.
Subject to temperature changes while performing assigned duties.
May be required to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures.
Subject to the hazards, dust and odors from sanding and painting procedures.
Subject to the hazards, vapors, and odors from various cleaning chemicals.
May be subject to work in the vicinity of chronic hazardous materials i.e., asbestos.
May be subject to work with hazardous chemicals.
Subject to work from elevated work surfaces.

Physical Demands:
All employees subject to physical demands are equipped and trained per OSHA standards.
Be able to lift 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
Be able to lift 100 pounds, with assistance, using proper lifting techniques or equipment.
Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Be able to bend body and arms in all directions to lift and move objects and to perform custodial duties.
Be able to ascend and descend a ladder while performing custodial duties.
Bend body at waist downward and forward to perform custodial duties.
Bend both legs and knees to kneel or place knees on concrete, vinyl, tile, and carpet surfaces.
Extend hands and arms in all directions to perform custodial duties.
Use upper and lower extremities to perform custodial duties, and upper extremities to handle custodial equipment, shovel snow and push and open doors.
Use hands to select appropriate keys, insert into locks, turn doorknobs, and open doors.
Answer, communicate and dial the telephone and use 2-way radio in clear, precise voice.
Personally respond quickly to emergency situations in all areas of the building, assess each situation and take appropriate action.
Have the physical ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
Perform work in high areas, such as, hoists and ladders.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Dusts, vacuums, empties trash and recycling, sweeps, mops, scrubs and/or cleans classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, entries, doors, windows, gyms and cafeterias, and stocks necessary supplies, etc…
2. Maintains cleanliness of chairs, desks, lockers, trash cans, carpets, hard floors, and equipment as part of a custodial routine or by special request.
3. Sets up equipment (i.e.: chairs, bleachers) for community education classes, sporting events, concerts, meetings, or other special events (indoors and outdoors). Checks building calendar, work orders and/or checks directly with supervisor to determine what equipment and service level is needed. Takes down equipment, coordinates cleaning of spaces used and locks up after event.
4. Performs light building and equipment maintenance.
5. Communicates the need for repairs to his/her supervisor.
6. Performs routine grounds maintenance (i.e.: shoveling snow, mowing)
7. Secures building at night, setting alarms, and locking doors and windows. Opens and closes building for special events.
8. Collaborates with other personnel in unloading freight trucks of food, paper, and supplies.
9. Maintains proficiency level in all required District, Health and Safety, and custodial trainings.
10. Maintains all licensure required by employee bargaining contract and State.
11. Employee is responsible to be knowledgeable about all District policy.

Third Party Billing and Due Process Specialist

Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department will accept applications for the position of Third Party Billing and Due Process Specialist in the District Office for the 2023-24 school year.  This 10-month position supports all buildings and works 6.5 hours per day plus half hour duty-free lunch, Monday – Friday.   The rate of pay is $20.16 per hour, based on the 2021-23 Master Agreement between SSP #6 and Local No. 7312, Educational Support Professionals.   This position reports to the Director of Student Services.

Job Summary
Coordinate third party billing process for the district, provide training to special education staff on third party billing requirements and compile necessary reports.

Job Functions

Manage, update, maintain and submit third party billing documents and records to the appropriate agencies.
Assist Special Education teachers and families in understanding and implementing necessary third party billing procedures.
Provide training to new and existing Special Education staff on third party billing requirements and processes in order to assure continued compliance with state and federal requirements.
Assist Special Education teachers in assuring the occurrence of required clinical supervision for third party services.
Coordinate the collection and dissemination of records for third party billing purposes.
Obtain and maintain physician orders for PCA services.
Obtain and maintain letters from private insurers to determine the availability of private reimbursements.
Create documents and forms necessary to expedite the collection of third party revenues.
Provide monthly reports to the Director of Student Services.
Regularly review service logs to assure quality record keeping and accuracy.
Maintain positive relationships with staff, families and agencies to facilitate growth in third party revenues.
Provide Department of Human Services with documentation necessary to set appropriate service rates.
Complete a yearly report for “settle up” by June 15 each year.
Attend local and state level training to continually increase knowledge base for third party responsibility to assure district compliance with state and federal regulations, and to continually pursue revenue opportunities via Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP).
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with all students, staff, families and community members.
Support the work of the Special Education departments in schools through customer and due process support.
Assist IEP case managers with the scheduling of IEP team meetings; manage and maintain the building special education timeline electronic calendar.  Manage room assignments for meetings and/or testing with front office staff.
Maintain the building special education master caseload spreadsheet; regularly inform IEP case managers of current status of caseload (timelines).
Maintain special education files.
Assist in requesting and acquiring school records for students new to the district.
Disseminate due process correspondence and paperwork in accordance with Pupil Data Privacy regulations and procedures.
Begin Sped Forms due process record by picking up the record and/or adopting the existing IEP.
Collaborate with district support staff to ensure due process is complete.
Process documents, complete filing, finalizing and mailings of required documents.
Adhere to staff and program guidelines and district procedures and policies.
Demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
Other duties as assigned.
