Position Start Date: Approximate start date 10/26/2023  for up to 12 weeks
FTE/Hours:  1.0 FTE (8:15am – 4:15pm)
Responsible To:  Building Principal
Qualifications: Must hold Current Valid State of Minnesota License in Elementary Education – Spanish Speaker

Compensation and Yearly Duration of Employment:  Compensation will be determined by District 112 and the Chaska Education Association (CEA).

Position is part of the teacher bargaining unit and based at the Mahtomedi High School.  Salary and benefits part of Master Agreement

Minimum Requirements:

Must have a valid MN License: Communication Arts/Literature for 5-12, or 9-12 or able to obtain the appropriate license from PELSB, Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in school setting and/or previous experience working with secondary level students
  • Strong knowledge of English/Language Arts and standards
  • Collaborate team member of a PLC, striving to implement best practices for instruction and assessment
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues, community and students
  • Excellent communication skills with staff, parents and students

Responsibilities:

  • Identify the needs of students through formal and informal assessments
  • Plan, develop and implement appropriate lessons to ensure the achievement of student growth
  • Communicate with students, parents and staff on regular basis on student progress
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
  • Foster a community where all people are valued, respected, seen and heard
  • Inspire robust academics, critical and creative thinking and continuous personal growth
  • Create world-class learning experiences that integrate multiple perspectives
  • Update all necessary records accurately as required by laws, district policies and school regulations
  • Attend department, school and parent meetings or functions
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

Essential Functions: A full-time (1.0 FTE) Kindergarten Teacher at Jefferson Elementary School. Performs professional work providing a broad range of teaching services within our elementary school, assisting students to develop skills, attitudes and learning methods at various levels to a targeted audience.

Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. Major Job Functions; Specific Tasks/Required Knowledge, Ability and Skills:  The Integrated Arts Academy is an innovative 9 -12 high school that is focused on content learning with a strong culinary, visual arts and horticulture programs.  IAA Is seeking highly a motivated individual for this position in which the teacher would be part of a unique high school team that specializes in personalization and project based learning.  The science teacher would have the ability to teach a variety of courses, and provide students weekly field trips related to the area of science for hands-on experiences.
