POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide academic and goal-based learning experiences that enhance student progress across all settings.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Contribute to and participate in the building student support teams.
  • Serve as an IEP case manager for D/HH students.
  • Collaborate and develop recommendations with students’ IEP teams.
  • Facilitate team meetings to review student progress and develop IEP’s as related to student needs.
  • Plan and implement appropriate educational programs for D/HH individuals.
  • Implement educational plans as described on individual IEP (IIP/IFSP) and train building staff as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate records and reports.  Collect data on progress on goals and objectives for each student and meet mandated timelines.
  • Develop, coordinate, and evaluate work related experience and community experiences for students, when applicable.
  • Provide work direction to paraprofessional staff members and interpreters.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, educators, and administrators regarding student programs and progress.
  • Collaborate with students, families, related service providers, outside agencies and other team members to promote growth of each student.
  • Work cooperatively with general education teachers and staff and provide building consultation, support and training as needed.
  • Create and maintain a professional working relationship with families and staff.
  • Obtain and demonstrate knowledge of general education curriculum including the grade level outcomes and state standards.
  • Participate in curriculum development and main professional competence through building and District level staff development activities and D/HH selected professional growth activities.
  • Conduct assessments, comprehensive report results and follow Minnesota state criteria in area(s) of D/HH eligibility.
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to provide individualized and/or small group instruction.
  • Teach staff and students on the care and maintenance of auditory equipment.
  • Teacher self-advocacy skills to students.
  • Train staff on adaptations and modifications needed for D/HH students in the general education classrooms.
  • Implement the Minnesota State Standards and the District Graduation Requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Administrative Assistant Due Process

Job Summary: The special education due process assistant assists in maintaining the special education
records in an efficient and manageable system, including maintaining the integrity of the due process system
by effectively overseeing the contents of the information.
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
• Clerical duties may include such things as acting as office receptionist, typing correspondence, and
other items, answering phones and distributes messages, directing calls and visitors to appropriate
parties, responding to telephone, voice mail and e-mail communication as needed, filing, copying,
processing mail, scheduling appointments, and organizing department information.
• Receives due process paperwork, updates electronic caseload information.
• Records information in documentation system.
• Reports all changes and additions of students to MARSS.
• Communicates with teachers and district staff.
• Files and maintains records according to expectations of the director.
Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:
• Provides support to Early Childhood Special Education Coordinator
• Performs other general duties as needed or assigned to ensure smooth operation of the department
and district operations.

1:1 STUDENT NURSE

Under direction of registered nurse and district licensed school nurse and principal, promote and maintain student physical and emotional health in order to maximize the student’s learning readiness and implement comprehensive health service programs within their building.

Primary Duties:
Provide first aide as appropriate according to district policy and procedures. Notify parents of student health concerns or injuries in a timely manner as appropriate.
Administer medication according to physician order and parent authorization following District192 policies and procedures.
Collect, update and maintain student health information.
Reinforce and support good health practices among students and staff.
Assist with collection, maintenance and reporting of student immunization records in compliance with Minnesota Immunization Law and district policy.
Complete daily electronic entry of student concerns and interventions for all cared for in the Health Office.

Long Term Substitute ABS, EBD and/or SLD Teacher at Jefferson Elementary School.  This position commences immediately upon hire and goes for approximately 6 months.

Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities.
