Mankato Area Public School is seeking applicants for a full-time (1.00 FTEs) Work-Based Learning Teacher at East & West High Schools beginning August 21, 2023, for the 2023-24 school year.

Summary of Duties:
Mankato Area Public Schools is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Work-Based Learning Instructor to join our high school team. The Work-Based Learning Instructor will be responsible for creating and implementing effective work-based learning programs that provide students with practical experiences and skills necessary for successful employment in their chosen career fields.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement work-based learning programs that align with the school’s career pathways and prepare students for employment in their chosen fields. Coordinate with local businesses and industry partners to create and facilitate meaningful work-based learning experiences for students.
Provide instruction and guidance to students on workplace behavior, communication skills, and other soft skills necessary for success in the workplace.
Collaborate with teachers and school administrators to integrate work-based learning into the academic curriculum.
Evaluate student performance in work-based learning experiences and provide feedback for improvement.
Ensure that all work-based learning programs comply with state and federal regulations.

 

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in work-based learning or a related field.
Knowledge of current industry trends and practices in work-based learning.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Must pass a background check and have a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications Preferred:

A valid MN license in Teacher/Coordinator Work Based Learning, CTE, or eligible for an Out of Field Placement.

Job Summary:
The Assistant Building Principal will support our Building Principals in the overall management of staff, faculty, and students at the designated school location. This position will also be the school’s Activities Director. Some additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Support in the development and implementation of the overall program of the school.
Collaborate with the Principal and Director of Teaching and Learning to provide program and curricular development, and to implement instructional improvement in grades PreK-12. Areas of focus include but are not limited to English, Math, Art, Music, Title 1, and Special Education Services.
Support in the student discipline of the school building.
Establish and maintain favorable relationships with the community, staff, faculty, parents, and students.
Support in evaluating and supervising faculty and support staff at the designated school location.
Along with the Human Resources Department, assist in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of new faculty and staff for the designated school location.
Lead the Student Activities Programs at the school location, including but not limited to hiring, onboarding and evaluating coaching staff.
Collaborate with other administrators, staff, and public safety agencies to establish and/or update student policy and procedures.
Participate in the recommendations regarding school delays and school closings due to inclement weather conditions.
Assist in maintaining records and prepare reports as assigned.
Participate in meetings with administration, school board, staff and other meetings as required or appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:

Administrative license in public education.
Master’s Degree in public education or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of classroom teaching experience.
Demonstrated experience in leadership, planning and program development.
Preferred Education and Experience:

3 or more years of previous classroom teaching and/or leadership experience in a public education environment.
3 or more years of previous experience in employee management is preferred.
Pre-Employment RequirementsMust be legal to work in the United States.
Must complete a pre-employment background.
Must have an active Minnesota Administrative License in K-12 public education.
