Job Summary:

  • Liaison with students, parents, school staff, and community agencies
  • Analyzes and interprets information for recommendations regarding needs and services
  • Participates in Child Study Teams
  • Collaborates with classroom teachers identifying special needs services for youth

  • Participates as a resource person for in-service training and planning
  • Participates in the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process as required
  • Makes referral to public or private agencies with appropriate follow-up
  • Provides therapeutic & rehabilitative mental health services in conjunction with students on IEPs
  • Completes mental health assessments for special education students

Qualifications:

  • Must hold appropriate Minnesota teaching license as a Licensed School Social Worker (licensed by the Board of Social Work and the Minnesota Board of Teaching)
  • Previous experience preferred
  • Possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Candidates preferred to have one of the following:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college / university and completed 2000 hours of supervised clinical experience delivering clinical services to treat mental illness or children with emotional disturbances
    • Enrolled in a Social Work Master’s program from an accredited college / university
    • Have an MSW from an accredited college/university
    • LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker)

Licensed School Social Worker/Counselor

 Job Summary:

Speech and Language Pathologist

  • The Speech and Language Pathologist performs professional work assessing and delivering instructional and clinical services to individual and small groups of students with speech and language impairments, and related work as apparent or assigned.

Qualifications:

  •  Master’s Degree in speech language pathology or related field; Minnesota licensure in speech language pathology; Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred.

Other skills and abilities:

  •  Thorough knowledge of speech and language diagnosis and therapy principles, practices and procedures; thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal resources, programs, procedures, laws, rules and regulations; skill in using computer equipment; ability to conduct interviews, assessments, and diagnosis effectively and analyze needs and problems objectively; ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff and administration.  Maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding students and staff.  Reliable and consistent attendance.

Part-time/Online Teachers (Math, English, Science, Social Studies)

Intermediate District 287 is looking for qualified candidates to teach as part-time Online Teachers for our growing Northern Star Online (NSO) program!

Northern Star Online (NSO) is a collaborative of 15 independent school districts and four educational service agencies. Dean of Students 2.0 FTE – Elementary Schools

General Definition of Work:
The Dean of Students will support the operations of the school overseeing the student management, behavior and attendance. Incumbent will be responsible for student management as outlined by the building principal. This position will observe and interact with individuals, groups and communities to assist with the healthy functioning of the students at the school. This key team member will collaborate with the principals and other support personnel in order to build positive relationships with stakeholders, collaborate and communicate effectively through a variety of methods, provide leadership of behavior management and supervision; facilitate the resolution of conflict; plan, organize and manage time and resources, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Principal. These positions are at Lincoln and Roosevelt Elementary Schools working a 210 day contract per year.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist the building Principal in establishing, implementing and evaluating effective interventions for increasing student success and achievement to build a positive environment for achieving educational outcomes.
  • Assists the building Principal as an instructional leader in overseeing programs; collaborate with the team, collaborate with the counseling departments, oversee student behavior and student management as directed by building principal, oversee student conduct and attendance, assist in leading curriculum and planning within building.
  • Monitor and communicate student progress with students, families, administrators and staff.
  • Support growth of students while working towards positive citizenship, improving their academic and behavior skills and abilities.
  • Analyze academic and behavior data collected from various records to help determine effective academic and behavioral interventions.
  • Serve as a member of various building teams and act as a liaison; assists staff, students and families in understanding building and district policies, procedures and requirements.
  • Create an environment where children from diverse backgrounds are comfortable and experience success.
  • Stay current with best practices research and strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
