Job Summary:
A dynamic leader who will maximize the potential of each student and staff member as well as build strong relationships with all stakeholders. Advocate for students, staff, school, district and public education by being responsive to parents and community,
creating a welcoming climate and culture, marketing school programs, promoting and supporting parental involvement for the purpose of encouraging and promoting community involvement and outreach. Instructional leader for the site and district. Responsible
for student achievement, focused conversations with teachers, daily classroom visits, shares and models effective teaching strategies, confronts classroom mediocrity, has high expectations, provides structure, strong disciplinarian, creates and maintains positive school climate (orderly), drive to move school forward, and includes all staff in the team effort in promoting student achievement for the purpose of providing support to site staff in order to
increase student achievement.

Essential Functions:

Develop student daily schedules; create staff schedules; review and allocate budgets and resources; assign, discipline, review and conduct staff hiring. Coordinate and conduct staff observations; coordinate and schedule paraprofessional duties; supervise and coordinate secretarial staff; coordinate with lead custodian or building maintenance and facility improvements. Plan and coordinate overall building budget; approve requests and evaluate priorities for large projects. Plan and lead meetings with teaching staff and non-certified staff; attend and present at public relations

Education and Experience

Master’s degree with coursework in Education, or related field and considerable experience in classroom teaching, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Functions:

Deliver classroom instruction; implement lesson plans on instructional units; develop and determine methods, approaches and instructional units; maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

Assess and evaluate student performance against lesson plans; determine the need for re-instruction or need for new approach; reinforce information previously taught in the classroom; determine grades for reporting purposes; monitor student performance and behaviors and determine how to approach bad behaviors.

Develop and plan instructional activities; develop and implement lesson plans personalized for individual student needs; assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs); implement student assessments and evaluate results; determine assessment process for instructional units; research topics and materials designed to improve instructional presentations.

Prepare for substitute teachers; communicate with parents and participate in parent/student conferences; participate and prepare for peer evaluation process.

Supervise students during the school day according to the established building schedule; provide indirect supervision during regular school days.

Collaborate with staff in evaluating individual student issues and approaches to instructional units; evaluate new teaching technologies and/or procedures.

Executive Director of Human Resources

We are currently seeking a full-time Executive Director of Human Resources serving district wide at our Central Service Building.

Job summary: Responsible for developing, directing and providing ongoing leadership for a comprehensive district human resources department.  Also responsible for directing the HR operations and related staff including labor relations activities, recruitment, staffing and retention, compensation and benefits administration, evaluation/employee performance.

Director of Special Education

  1. Provide coordination and supervision of programs in special education, social work, psychological services, and related services.
  2. Supervise and monitor the implementation of statewide eligibility criteria for special education.
  3. Evaluate the effectiveness of current services, modify present services, and develop new services in areas of responsibility, as deemed appropriate by the Executive Director of Special Education
  4. Assist in the collection of information regarding the learning outcomes of students and in the interpretation of effective data regarding students.
  5. Facilitate and support District Special Education data examination in alignment with curriculum review, UbD and implementation of Standards-Based IEPs.
  6. Serve as an active participant in the selection and recommendation process for new teachers within special education. Including the evaluation process for non-continuing contract staff as well as summative year continuing contract staff.
  7. Serve as a member of the District’s administrative team
  8. Provide direct supervision of District Strategists
  9. Provide necessary information to the Executive Director of Special Education for the completion of state reports, and prepare those reports in areas of responsibility as delegated by the Executive Director.
  10. Oversight of SpEd Forms and building special education office assistants.
  11. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Executive Director of Human Resources and Operations

Lead and direct St. Anthony-New Brighton’s comprehensive human resource functions in alignment with district mission, goals, and strategic directions. Key function oversight includes but is not limited to the following: recruitment, staffing, retention, direct compensation, mandated staff wellness, and supplemental employee benefits, performance management systems, consultation, contract negotiations/administration, pay equity compliance, employee investigations, employee evaluation systems management, training & development. Provides direction and leadership for all non academic aspects of the school district including, but not limited to: nutrition services, transportation, district office, and technology.

Major Areas of Accountability:

District Leadership:

Participate in the Superintendent’s Administrative Team which provides strategic and tactical organizational leadership.
Act as liaison with the Board, other divisions of the school district and other agencies and organizations on matters related to transportation, technology, nutrition services and human resources.
Advise the Superintendent on all matters concerning the operations of the school district.
Respond to inquiries for interpretation from the school staff on matters not clearly covered by regulation, policy or legislation.
Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations on school district operations and related issues to the School Board, principals, parents, community groups; attend regular meetings of the School Board; conduct staff meetings, attend other related meetings.
Attend and participate in local, regional, state and national meetings and conferences to keep abreast of current and emerging developments in all school district administrative functions.
Assume a leadership role on the administrative team; assist with long range strategic planning; assist with developing system­wide budget, plans, policies and activities; perform various duties assigned by the Superintendent.

 

Lead and manage all areas of Human Resources:

Leadership and Planning

Ensure that the human resource function supports the vision, mission, and strategic directions of ISD282.
Collaborate on the development and revision of policies related to the human resource functions of ISD282.
Oversee bias-free interviewing, hiring, onboarding, development, engagement, and/or retention practices for all district employees and substitute employees.
Serve as a district representative along with the superintendent, in all employee relations and labor relations issues.
Attend school board meetings, work sessions, and other meetings as necessary; make presentations to the school board and staff in regards to Human Resources.
Research, develop, and implement workplace efficiencies for human resources:
Assess the effectiveness of current operations and improvements.
Recommend and oversee changes in procedures to improve effectiveness and service.
Facilitate ongoing collaboration between District employees and departments.
Ensure job positions and duties are aligned with contracts and compensation.
Assure compliance with laws and District policies in the area of human resources.

 

Labor Relations and Benefits and Employee Services

Build a shared vision for human resources; communicate vision and related actions.
Oversee a system to set bias free performance expectations, appraise performance, improve performance and provide corrective action as necessary for all employees.
Ensure development, implementation, and improvement of employee evaluation systems.
Provide support and training to employees to ensure effective performance.
Design and implement systems to successfully process employee complaints, conduct investigations, and when necessary process employee discipline.
Ensure record maintenance of all collective bargaining agreements.
Provide administration of all employee contracts and collective bargaining contracts.
Coordinate action on grievances filed by labor unions.
Assist in arbitrations as directed by the Legal Counsel; collaborate with Legal Counsel on employment matters.
Supervise the submission of required reports related to federal and state laws concerning pay equity and comparable worth, benefits, unemployment compensation, labor relations, occupational safety and health, and worker’s compensation.
Ensure job descriptions are accurate and well defined for every employee position.
Oversee compliance with federal and state laws for school district employee benefit programs.
Select and supervise external employee benefits consultants and specialists to coordinate the Districts use of insurance brokers, insurance carriers, pension administration, and other outside service providers.
Oversee and manage the transfer, dismissal, promotion, resignation, and retirement of all employees.
Oversees COBRA and retiree insurance.
Maintain record keeping systems for all human resource functions.
Utilize data to improve the human resource functions, processes, systems, and procedures.

Lead and manage all areas of District Operations:

District Office:

Provides planning, direction and leadership for the District Office.
Coordinates and supervises Business Office personnel, determining assignments, work procedures and methods, and performs evaluations.
Participate in all District Levy and Bond processes.
Negotiate vendor contracts.

Transportation

Manages Transportation department.
Oversees and collaborates with the CESO.

Food Service

Oversees the Nutrition Services department and collaborates with the Nutrition Services Supervisor to ensure efficient operation of the department.

Technology

Manages and directs the district information technology (IT) operations, ensuring the department provides efficient and effective technical support service.
Manages and directs the district’s Student Information Systems Coordinator, ensuring accurate and essential student information is being collected and reported.

Special Education Teacher – Elementary (School Year 2023-2024)

Position Summary:
The Teacher is a stand-alone classification.  Performs difficult professional work providing a broad range of teaching and direct instructional services or specific learning programs within District curriculum guidelines, assisting students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed as a foundation for future learning in accordance with each student’s ability, using a variety of teaching and learning methods at various levels to a targeted audience, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Building Principal.  Continuous oversight is exercised over paraprofessionals.

Qualifications:
A valid Special Education teaching license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education (consideration of all Special Education categories). Consistent and reliable attendance is required.
