Position Details;
Lester Prairie Public Schools is seeking a Business Manager to start immediately. The Business Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the district.  This position will work with district office staff to manage the district finance related activities including but not limited to revenues, expenditures, budgets, payroll, taxes, investments, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Applicant should have positive customer service skills, phone etiquette, good communication skills, be responsible, flexible, helpful, have math and accounting skills, be self-directed and self-motivated.  Must have the ability to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with accounting, business administration, finance, or closely related field preferred. Training will be available if needed.
Strong Communication skills with the ability to get along with a variety of people.
Experience in the accounting field in business or school environment or governmental accounting.
Demonstrate leadership, customer service, and team growth.

Functions of the position;

Directs the overall financial management of the district
Prepares annual operating budget
Plans and prepares work papers for the annual audit
Finance and budget consultation with Administration
Assists the business operations of the Food Service program
Compiles annual levy information and provide the Superintendent with recommendations
Monitors long term debt obligations
Determines cash flow projections, borrowing needs, and excess funds
Prepares all State and Federal reports pertaining to district financial aid. This includes maintaining for SEDRA, and all Federal awarded grants programs (Title I, II, IV, REAP and SERVS).  Prepare and electronically submit required reports to the Minnesota Department of Education.
Initiates UFARS coding according to MDE guidelines
Monthly Bank Reconciliations, ledger and journal entries as required
Attends School Board meetings as a resource person
Other duties as assigned

POSITION:
Lead Administrative Assistant – Pines School – 8 hours per day – 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM
214 days per year (includes 9 paid holidays) – beginning February 6, 2023.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Greets all visitors courteously, determines their needs, checks appointments and directs or escorts them to the appropriate person.
• Prepares documents for the school such as: faculty handbook, parent/student handbook, school and maps.
• Provides administrative clerical support services.
• Maintains an effective communications retrieval system.

• Finance:
o Ordering equipment, supplies, teacher orders
o Skyward reports and budget reports
o Assess fees in campus, make deposits as necessary

• Campus:
o Schedules teacher into sections
o Maintains class rosters
o Schedules students into courses
o Keep enrollment numbers up to date
• Works with AESOP and Veritime.
• Daily staff communication
o Updating staff directory and phone directory
• Working with Staff to set up conference schedule and communications to families
• Assist with beginning of the year open houses, orientations and communication to
families and staff
• Maintain positive/effective communication with Anoka County (courts, probation
officers, county staff, etc)
• Set up Schoology course for Staff and Para’s and keep information updated and accurate
• Keep accurate inventory of supplies, construction paper, and supplies needed throughout
the school.
• Assist with many daily tasks that help the school run smoothly.
• Performs such other tasks consistent with the position as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Post high school training required with business and finance experience preferred.
Successful experience in an office setting required.
Demonstrated effective oral and written communications skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all school dealings.
Proven success in keyboarding and computer software required.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work as a positive contributing member of an office team.
Proven, successful experience working with minimal supervision accompanied by successful
problem-solving skills.
Proven, successful experience relating well to school-aged youth as well as to adults.
Ability to multi-task in a high energy environment.

WAGES/BENEFITS:
As per the current Administrative Assistant/Clerical master agreement. Paid benefit package.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, supervision of students indoors and/or out of doors, tutoring students under the direct supervision of a teacher, general classroom clerical support, assisting students with hygiene needs, facilitating behavioral redirection and intervention, physically transferring students and assisting in instructional job responsibilities.
