Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department will accept online applications for the position of School Social Worker at South St. Paul Schools for the 2023-24 school year.  We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.  Salary placement is based on education and experience as indicated in Teachers’ Collectively Bargained Agreement.

Job Functions

Implement or assist in implementing a safe school climate that results in academic and personal success for each student.
Intervenes in problematic student behaviors at the earliest stages possible and contributes to the District’s development of proactive preventative strategies intended to help address and alleviate such behaviors.
Establishes, facilitates and/or delivers social work services for students and their families who are experiencing social/emotional/behavioral challenges, attendance issues, homelessness and/or resource disparities.
Assists in developing and coordinating the student attendance operation to ensure staff compliance and family/student support. As needed, work with the students/parents and staff to correct student attendance and/or behavioral problems both within and outside of school.
Assist with accessing outside resources needed to help students become personally and academically successful.
Assist with the consultation of teachers as it relates to student behavior concerns.
Develops positive and collaborative working relationships with parents and caregivers to encourage parent-teacher-administrator communication
Ensures compliance and accurate documentation of social work case notes, homeless and highly mobile forms, attendance letters, and Dakota County truancy and child protection reporting.
Ensure timely and accurate documentation in student information system
Adhere to all district policies and procedures.
Support the district’s mission, vision and values.
Provide guidance to help students cope effectively to personal, social, academic, and family concerns.
Support the total need of each student (educational, personal and social), encourage maximum growth and development.
Design and lead professional development for staff
Attend student, staff and parent meetings as deemed appropriate.
Assist in implementing on-site crisis intervention/management plans.
Consult and collaborate effectively with parents/guardians, teachers, administrators and other educational/community resources regarding students with identified concerns and needs.
Ensures alignment of practice decisions with District policies so that work responsibilities can be performed purposefully, confidently and independently.
Establishes and maintains effective communication with school and district-wide social work departments.

Licensed Practical Nurse

Summary of Position:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) serves as the subject matter expert in general health related areas in the educational school setting.  LPN’s working for Faribault Public Schools provide care to students with health needs, refer students to outside providers and assist with screenings and prevention of communicable diseases. The positions commence immediately upon hire. LPN’s are employed full-time for 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week between late August and early June; serving Jefferson Elementary School. Additional summer opportunities are available.

REGISTERED NURSE

Job Description:          Registered Nurse position at McKinley Early Childhood Center to provide nursing assistance to students.  RN’s are employed full-time for 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week between late August and early June; serving McKinley Early Childhood students.  Additional summer opportunities are available.  The position commences on approximately 8/21/23 with the start of the 23-24 school year.

Controller

Summary of Job Duties:  The Controller is a key leader within the finance and operations department performing difficult administrative work assisting with the direction and supervision of the district’s fiscal resources and staff.  The Controller will work in the development of innovative financial and operations that support teaching, learning, student development and organizational operations. The Controller will assist in the development and support of district-wide finance and operation policies, procedures, budgets, services and facilities while working collaboratively with administration with the supervision of the accounting system coordinating the day-to-day business operation of the district.

Essential Functions:

Coordinate the day to day activities of the business office to ensure an orderly workflow.
Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, local, state and federal statutes and board policy.
Assist in the supervision and coordination of business office staff.
Manage the finance system maintenance including application set up, Uniform Financial Accounting and Reporting Standards (UFARS) coding changes and updates, and calendar and fiscal year-end processing.
Resolve finance system problems and conduct staff training on the finance system.
Conduct audit of and provide support in calculating employee deductions and benefits within the payroll system.
Coordinate and oversee the salaries and benefits payable process; verify and overlook process.
Coordinate, facilitate and monitor the budgeting process; communicating regularly with budget managers and finance department.
Manage balance sheet reconciliations including benefits, payroll, fixed assets, AP, AR, etc.
Act as a resource and subject matter expert for staff with balances and codes throughout the year.
Manage financial reporting, including grants.
Prepare and arrange for the internal auditing of accounts.
Coordinate the preparation of the required annual external audit of district accounts.
Assist in the implementation and coordination of the district’s accounting functions.
Monitor and communicate cash flow needs; project district cash needs and prepare future daily and monthly plans for cash management.
Assist with making financial projections and forecasting estimates.
Participate in leadership and collaborative interdepartmental meetings as a representative and member of the department.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Middle School or High School Special Education Teacher

Caledonia Area Public School District has an opening for a full-time middle school or high school special education teacher beginning the 2023-2024 school year.
