This position is part-time and based out of Wildwood Elementary and the District Education Center.  Salary and benefits part of Master Agreement.

Job Summary: 

Seeking individuals interested Mahtomedi School District’s Preschool Program for the 2023-24 school year. This shift works school hours Tuesday/Thursday half day preschool program from 12:00-3:30 PM.  Part time hours are depending on class registration. The early childhood teacher develops materials and lesson plans, conducts classroom instruction, and evaluates and assesses both instructional materials and student performance. The teacher meets with parents/guardians, interprets student progress, and informs parents/guardians about student strengths, weaknesses and/or progress.

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS degree and a current license in one of the following: Prekindergarten, Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Family Education, Early Childhood Education, or Birth-Grade 3 or able to obtain the appropriate license from PELSB, Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.  Knowledge of The Creative Curriculum for Preschool and COR knowledge preferred.

Duties:
The essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental job duties:

  • Plan instruction and other student support activities, including establishment of overall goals and priorities, unit plans, classroom activities and daily lesson plans.  Such plans should be consistent with the district/department goals and objectives, should consider the needs and abilities of the students, and should incorporate basic components of lesson design as appropriate.  Early childhood teacher selects, reviews, and modifies materials and resources consistent with instructional objectives and student’s participation.
  • Provide instruction to students in a manner that incorporates essential elements of instruction such as teaching specific objectives that are developmentally appropriate.  Uses techniques to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly, and correctly employs various principles of learning.  Establishes and maintains student control/discipline in the classroom, on school premises, and/or in school activities by communicating expectations for appropriate behavior. Provides structure and consistency, encourages student responsibility, cooperation, and mutual respect in a manner consistent with district policies and procedures and legal requirements.
  • Participate in parent/teacher conferences. Interprets student strengths, weaknesses and/or problems the student may be experiencing in the classroom.
  • Collaborates with other professional staff regarding the needs of students. Communicates accurately, preserving confidentiality of information, and sharing approaches to instructional units and new teaching technologies or procedures available.
  • Pursue professional development activities to broaden and deepen knowledge of content and teaching skills and continually identifies professional needs and develops strategies to meet those needs.

The Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) is a private, nonprofit organization founded in 1920. We are located in St. Peter, Minnesota. Position

MSBA is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to join the Board Development Team. This position has a hybrid working model; it requires occasional evening and weekend hours.

Primary Responsibilities

The Board Development Administrative Assistant will:

  • Assist with planning and promoting MSBA programs and events.
  • Maintain MSBA calendar of programs and events.
  • Design and prepare general correspondence, memos, and materials. Proofread copy for spelling, grammar, and layout; responsible for accuracy and clarity of final copy.
  • Provide operational and administrative support and responsive customer service to member inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines with minimal supervision and to collaborate with others as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofing, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Advanced knowledge of standard computer software and technology (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite and related programs).
  • Experience using social media (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, etc.) including planning content in a business setting is desirable.

Occupational Therapist

JOB GOAL: To evaluate children with disabilities; provide treatment and consultation services for and on behalf of children that qualify for occupational therapy services; and communicate with education personnel, parents and community agencies. School-based occupational therapy is designed to enhance the student’s ability to fully access and be successful in the learning environment. The Occupational Therapist helps students restore or maintain function, foster normal development and where feasible, prevent further disabilities through the selection of purposeful activities. The Occupational Therapist facilitates improvement of the student’s physical, emotional, sensory and/or perceptual deficits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Screening or evaluation of a student’s current performance in areas of concern, the modifications or attempts that have been made to solve the problems, and results of those attempts.
2. Collecting information regarding a child’s performance using various methods from multiple settings and sources determining a child’s current functional abilities in performance areas (activities of daily living, work/productive activities and play/leisure activities) as compared to the expected performance.
3. Determining a child’s current functional abilities within performance contexts, including temporal context and physical, social, and cultural environmental contexts, as compared to the expected performance.
4. Developing goals related to academic and nonacademic performance and recommend OT service delivery when educationally necessary (IEP).
5. With other members of the team, write objectives that reflect the student’s needs in the educational setting (IEP).
6. Developing an OT intervention plan.
7. Planning for and delivering OT services according to the frequency and duration listed on the IEP. Developing and implementing a plan of data collection to provide objective basis for decision making.
8. Provide intervention that enhances the child’s functional abilities.
9. Make recommendations for altering intervention plans as indicated by a child’s performance.
10. Lead meetings, conferences, and informal interactions as requested.
11. Document child’s performance, phone calls, meetings, and such in child’s OT record.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
All OTs who practice in Wisconsin, regardless of the type of setting, must be licensed by the Department of Regulation and Licensing, Occupational Therapy Affiliated Credentialing Board, and practice in accordance with these rules. A combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
