The United South Central Public School District is seeking a Superintendent to begin July 1, 2023.  Candidates must possess licensure as a Superintendent in the State of Minnesota or demonstrate their ability to secure licensure by July 1, 2023.  Previous experience as a Superintendent is preferred but not required.

The United South Central Public Schools office is located in Wells, Minnesota, which is approximately 35 miles south of Mankato on Minnesota State Highway 22.  The school district serves approximately 745 students from Pre-K through grade 12, all of whom are served at one school site in Wells.

Must hold a valid Technology Educational teaching license in the State of Minnesota or ability to
be licensed.

Interim Activities Director

Job Description:  Faribault Public Schools is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time Interim Activities Director to begin immediately upon hire through June 30, 2023.  The successful candidate for this leadership-level position is responsible for developing and engaging Faribault Public Students in activities and athletic opportunities.  This Director will be part of the high school and district-wide leadership team which supports and encourages community involvement with district goals and building school/community pride.

Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. The school district currently serves approximately 3,500 students in Faribault and our surrounding areas within our community of 23,000 citizens within the city limits. District sites include one early childhood center, three elementary schools K-5, one middle school 6-8, one high school 9-12, one area learning center 9-12 and one education center for adult education.

The historic community of Faribault offers adventure, fun, unique dining, history, shopping and entertainment. Essential Functions:  Plans, supervises, directs and initiates recommendations concerning extracurricular goals. Directs, organizes and participates in district athletic and activity review process, coaching and advising improvement and delivery, programs, materials and equipment selection and overall program assessments.  Develops and monitors budget and programming that can be efficiently within budget while seeking additional funds through grants, fundraising, raising public awareness and collaboration opportunities as necessary. Reviews and interprets participation eligibility for students using MN State High School League, district and conference policies and procedures; making recommendations to the High School Principal, Superintendent of Schools and School Board. This director will be responsible for communicating with parents, community groups, schools, local media and the city, maintaining a positive relationship with stakeholders as a representative of the district. The Activities Director is responsible for overseeing the scheduling of facilities, reviewing activity participation and creating/reporting on student interest surveys.

 

Behavior Specialist

Hiawatha Valley Education District (HVED) provides special education services to 13 School Districts and 3 Charter Schools within five counties of southeast Minnesota: Fillmore, Houston, Olmsted, Wabasha, and Winona. HVED also has a Setting IV Behavior Program- Students Achieving Integrated Services (SAIL), that provides programming for students in grades K-12 with challenging behaviors currently receiving special education services. The SAIL program is located in Kellogg.  Along with this program, HVED provides programming for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (SPECTRUM). Our SPECTRUM program is located in Hokah. HVED is committed to providing the best services to staff, students, and member districts in southeast Minnesota. Position Overview:
HVED is seeking a professional, self-motivated Behavior Specialist to join the Mental Health Practitioner/Behavior Specialist team. These applicants will be trained and competent in designing and implementing positive behavioral interventions and support to member district teachers and/or HVED’s Level IV Behavior and Autism program(s). District and program assignments are based on a combination of geographic location, student caseloads and district needs, as well as team and employee preferences.

Qualifications:

The Education District requires an applicant to have one or more of the following licensure:

Licensed Special Education Teacher, preferably in Emotional or Behavior Disorders (EBD). Other Special Education licensure are considered.
Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Counselor, or Board Certification Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Other degrees and licensure may be considered if the individual is skilled in behavioral analysis, functional assessment and crisis intervention.
Experience in child behavior and intervention experience strongly preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license to travel between HVED programs and member school district(s).

Competencies:

Must be able to work in team decision-making situations
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Must possess ability to problem-solve
Must possess ability to coordinate with others and lead teams when necessary
Knowledgeable in interpreting and supporting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs)
Familiar with PBSP (Positive Behavior Support Plan) and BIPs (Behavior Intervention plans)

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

Provide classroom and behavioral supports for students through analyzing data to identify inappropriate behaviors, planning, implementing and tracking individual behavioral plans.
Identify barriers to successful transition and facilitate transition plans.
Assist IEP teams in problem-solving and creating plans to manage behaviors that affect a student’s learning.
Become a certified CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Trainer and facilitate CPI initial and refresher courses for HVED employees and member district employees.
Provide a comprehensive approach to behavior management that includes evaluation, data collection, interventions and regular monitoring to produce socially significant improvement in children’s behavior.

Travel Requirements:

Travel among the HVED programs, member districts and HVED District Office required.
Working Conditions:

Office, lifting, sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, keyboarding, etc.
