Special Education Teacher, Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) (School Year 2023-2024)

Position Summary:
This Special Education teacher position is part of Owatonna Public School’s K-12 Stride program. Stride classrooms provide specialized instruction to students with multicategorical cognitive delays who require a fuctional curriculum. Stride teachers work closely within a team structure which includes paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administration. Students also access general education courses as appropriate to their educational plan; the Stride teacher plans jointly with the general education teacher to provide the accommodations and modifications necessary in order for the student to access and make progress within the general education curriculum.

Stride teachers are highly relational, yet also possess strong skills in curriculum differentiation based on students’ developmental strengths and challenges. Lessons are individualized and delivered with creativity and enthusiasm in order to maximize student engagement and learning, with the goal of increasing student independence.

Qualifications:
Valid MN Special Education Teaching – DCD or ABS licensure required. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

Elementary Principal

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Superintendent, the successful candidate for this position will assume responsibility for providing leadership for the Minneota Elementary School in the areas of instructional programming, staffing, curriculum review and implementation, daily functions of the school, staff supervision, student programming, family/public engagement and other operational functions of the school.  The position may also include serving as the District’s Federal Programs Coordinator.

 

Approach discipline consistently and fairly and thoroughly document disciplinary actions
Collaborate and work closely with district administration on matters impacting the district as a whole; participate in district-wide decision making, committees, and meetings to provide input, analysis, recommendation; and assist in the implementation of district-wide initiatives concerning staff development, curriculum, and programs.
Coordinate and lead the development of a comprehensive curriculum, including oversight of State and local requirements, standards, and reports.
Cultivate a shared commitment to high academic achievement and character development for all students and staff.
Develop and implement an effective communications plan that creates an intentional collaboration among stakeholders (staff, students, parents, and community); serve as the primary spokesperson concerning building-level situations and keep parents informed of school-related activities and student performance.
Ensure that programs implement leading-edge technology and purposeful educational practices and programs that address the range of skills and developmental needs of each student.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administration, parents, students, teachers, support staff, and community members and follow through in a timely manner.
Focus on equity and equitable outcomes for all students.
Foster a positive school culture that promotes an environment of responsibility and respect.
Provide leadership in alignment with the District mission, vision, and strategic plan.
Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, families, and staff.
Organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Regularly evaluate all staff and provide effective staff development that addresses the needs of staff; provides coaching and assistance to staff in need of performance improvement; assist staff to establish rigorous, measurable goals.
Responsible for the recruitment, selection and hiring, and support of all PreK-6 staff; clearly articulate roles and responsibilities and high expectations for job performance; supervise all assigned personnel, observe students and staff regularly to ensure performance measures are met, encourage accountability, growth, and excellence.
Set and monitor high standards for all students and staff for superior academic, arts, and activities.

Director of Teaching & Learning

Job Description:   Faribault Public Schools is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time Director of Teaching and Learning to begin ASAP or July 1, 2023.  The successful candidate for this cabinet-level position is responsible for developing and engaging faculty in initiating and supporting communities of practice in assessment and student learning. The Director will guide educators on how to effectively build, track, and revise curricular goals, learning outcomes, learning objectives and related assessments that establishes best practices and meets standards.  This Director will be part of a leadership team which supports and encourages community involvement with district goals and building school/community pride. Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. Directs, organizes and participates in district curriculum design, review process, instruction improvement and delivery, programs, materials and equipment selection and over all program assessments.  Reviews and interprets testing data and reports results; making recommendations to the Superintendent of Schools and School Board. Oversees and develops instructional budgets; reviews and approves grants and related budgets, maintains district-wide staff development funds, champions district student enrollment goals and processes.  Collaborates with all administrative departments to ensure robust inter-departmental communication, budgeting and protocols. Provides support to building administrators with the evaluation process of licensed staff.
