POSITION TITLE: Health and Safety/Facility Operations Specialist
REPORTS TO: Director of Buildings and Grounds Operations
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs detailed work assisting with planning, management, and facilitating health and safety and facility operations programs, custodial/grounds staff, maintenance, budgeting, and improvement of District equipment and facilities, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Buildings & Grounds Operations.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist in the development and implementation of procedures and methods regarding the care, cleaning and maintenance of district building, equipment, and grounds.
2. Assists with developing and recommending operational strategies for cost avoidance, energy conservation and efficiency, and the health and safety of building occupants.
3. Maintain health and safety management programs and MNOSHA compliance activities.
4. Implement procedures for identifying, analyzing, and controlling hazards, minimizing risks, and training school district staff on safe work practices.
5. Assists with the scheduling and assignment of repairs and routine maintenance.
6. Conduct ongoing inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with custodial cleaning standards.
7. Conduct periodic workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and safety concerns.
8. Implementing and monitoring programs and policies related to facility operations.
9. Serve as a liaison with faculty, administrators, and support personnel in discussing needs and/or problems relating to facility operations.
10. Assisting in the supervision, scheduling, and evaluation of custodial and grounds staff.
11. Assisting in the coordination, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of departmental trainings.
12. Assisting with monitoring of all district automation systems to maintain comfort of building occupants and ensuring efficient energy usage.
13. Maintain professional growth and expertise in facility operations.
14. Performing other related duties incidental to the work described within the job description.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or GED
2. Valid MN Driver’s License
3. Second Class boilers license, with a First Class boilers license within two years.
4. 5 years of experience in facility operations or related field.
5. Demonstrated knowledge of the basic principles of facility operations and management.
6. Knowledge of federal, state, and District regulations and guidelines covering public school buildings, maintenance, construction, and health and safety, and the ability to apply those regulations and guidelines to ensure the District remains in compliance.
7. Effective project management and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong team motivation, conflict management, and organizational skills.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
10. Skilled in the use of Power Point, Word, Excel, and other computer software programs.
11. Must have enthusiasm for the job, a customer service approach and be willing to work in a team environment.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management or a related field
2. Vocational training in heating, ventilating and air conditioning
3. Demonstrated experience in a supervisory capacity
4. Experienced in building automation systems and preventive maintenance programs
5. Certified Pool Operator License
WORK ENVIRONMENT/REQUIREMENTS:
A. Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid
conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and
vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic
chemicals; extreme cold; and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually
low but could be loud, depending on the situation.
B. Physicals Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; talk; hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is
occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, balance; push, pull and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WAGES: Salary range $70,000-$75,000 based on experience and qualifications. This is an individual contract and will have competitive health insurance, vacation, and other benefits.

POSITION TITLE: Health Services Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services
POSITION SUMMARY: The Health Services Coordinator provides leadership in the development and maintenance of the district student health services program and oversees health services employees.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
• Oversee and organize the gathering of health information during Early Childhood Screenings.
• Oversee district standards of practice for health service delivery.
• Direct care- filling in health offices as needed.
• Assist and conduct health related sections of special education evaluations.
• Coordinate health services in collaboration with Kids Club Coordinator and before and after school programs.
• Oversee and coordinate pandemic planning and coordination.
• Attend Minnesota Department of Health phone calls/webinars.
• Attend Greater Metro and Northeast Metro Area Nurse meetings.
• Facilitate updates and maintenance of the district health services webpage.
• Develop and maintain Licensed School Nurse (LSN) Resource Manual.
• Serve as a liaison between health services and district administration.
• Attend Anoka County quarterly meetings related to health services.
• Lead recruiting and hiring of health office staff.
• Coordinate and provide training/onboarding of new health office staff.
• Attend Child Study/SAT meetings as needed.
• Supervision of all Licensed School Nurses (LSN), Licensed Care Specialists and Health Office Aides.
• Coordinate hearing and vision screening.
• Provide 504 coordination and ongoing training and support for building 504 coordinators.
• Provide AED and EpiPen management in collaboration with Director of Building and Grounds.
• Oversee and provide staff development related to health services across the district.
• Support Third Party Billing district wide.
• First Aid and CPR training organization.
• Reduce the spread of communicable diseases by collecting student immunization data according to
State mandates.
• Monitor and document communicable diseases in cooperation with the Licensed School Nurses and
District administration.
• Oversight of electronic health records.
• Implement procedures that must be in place such as medication administration, blood glucose
monitoring, and complex medical procedures.
• Lead district Wellness Committee
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. Master’s Degree in Public Health, Nursing or Health
Education, desired
• Minnesota Public Health Nurse certification and Licensed School Nurse
• Two years of professional experience in a related area required. Five years of professional experience
in related area, desired.
• Supervisory experience of health care employees, desired
• Knowledge of and expertise in federal and state laws in student health services
• Knowledge of and expertise in trends in the provision of student health services
• Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, and leadership skills
• Current certification in Basic First Aid and Safety
• Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Knowledge and experience with school nursing
• Knowledge and understanding of working with a diverse population of students (disability, culture,
gender)
• Ability to work within the scope of practice of the position
• Prompt regular and reliable attendance
• Demonstrate proficiency with electronic charting systems and use of technology
WORK ENVIRONMENT/REQUIREMENTS:
A. Working Conditions: Must be willing and able to work in the following conditions: busy, noisy, with
consistent interruptions.
B. Physicals Demands: The employee will need the ability to perform the following actions continuously:
sitting, walking, using hands dexterously, talking, hearing. The employee will perform the following actions
