General Definition of Work:The Communications Coordinator performs intermediate skilled human support work providing leadership and direction for all district wide internal and external communications consistent with a plan that supports and aligns with the district’s strategic plan, enhances the school district’s image, engages the community in the schools, builds public support for the school district, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Superintendent.

Essential Functions:Develops communication for the district which supports the Districts mission and goals and creates a positive image to stakeholders (parents, students, staff, community members and job applicants).
Collaborates across all departments and schools to ensure accurate and timely information.
Coordinates the communication of district programs, policies, and school board actions to employees and the public.
Develops, writes, edits, and facilitates the district’s internal and external communications, including district web pages, social media, newsletters, and press releases.
Develops, promotes, and supports the district’s brand and ensures that communications, both internal and external, align with it while promoting school pride.
Advises district leaders and other staff on strategies to effectively communicate district messages and relate effectively to diverse audiences.
Assists program leaders in communication efforts to address educational topics and decisions with their stakeholders using innovative strategies and sources.
Collaborates with students and family liaisons to ensure communications are available in languages other than English and formats other than print based on audience need.
Directs district website design and content. Coordinates with key stakeholders to ensure website content is up to date, accurate, and meets established standards.
Identifies opportunities for positive media coverage and develops publications, video, social media, web or communications to reach key audiences.
Directs and implements plans for social media forums. Advises staff on the use of social media in their professional work.
Develops ideas and marketing techniques for publications.
Assists Administrators and Principals in managing crisis situations and coordinating communication efforts related to the crises.
Plans and coordinates periodic polling of public opinion on current issues of strategic importance to the district to inform communications strategies.
Articulates annual performance goals of each building and district strategic plan and reports progress to the Superintendent and Board.
Attends and covers school board meetings to stay apprised of and communicate about Board discussions.
Continue education through classes, conferences, and memberships to professional organizations.
Serves as a member of the district’s leadership team; works closely with administration.

Middle School Principal

Under the direction of the Director of Instruction, the Middle School Principal is responsible for providing educational leadership within the Middle School by implementing the educational and district initiatives at the building level and for directing, supervising, and overseeing all school operations, personnel, and activities within the Middle School.  The Middle School Principal collaborates and works closely with other administrators, staff, students, and the public in addressing and meeting the educational needs and goals of the district, its students, its families, and in performing various public relations responsibilities within the community.

Head Principal minimum starting salary is $98,700 plus benefits based on background and experience.

Elementary School Principal

Essential Functions:   The Elementary School Principal serves as the educational leader and chief administrator of the school, planning and directing the instructional programs by ensuring the curriculum, technology, instruction, strategies and assessment of student progress are coherent components in the teaching and learning process, administering school buildings and grounds operations, participating in staff, student and community activities, organizing, directing, evaluating and supervising assigned certified and classified staff, and related work as apparent or assigned.

Assistant High School Principal

Under the direction of the Building Principal, the Assistant Principal is responsible for providing administrative assistance and administrative support to the Building Principal in providing educational leadership to staff and in overseeing the daily building operations, programs, and concerns.

Position Purpose
To assist the Principal in providing leadership and supervision in administering the educational program of a High School in order to promote the educational development and achievement of students in accordance with Board of Education policies, administrative procedures, rules and regulations, and applicable law.  To provide leadership in program development and improvement, as well as in professional staff development. To serve as Principal in the absence of the Principal.

Essential Functions Additional Duties
Provides direct student services related to student management, discipline, and student academic achievement.Coordinates and implements student discipline and attendance programs at assigned grade levels.  Enforces rules and procedures; supervises students in the building, school grounds, the parking lot, cafeteria, hallways, and assemblies.  Follows up with parents and/or staff regarding discipline or truancy referrals.  Makes decisions concerning discipline and suspensions.
Participates and assists in supervising events, functions, or activities within the building/district, as requested.

Deals a wide variety of student behavior including truancy, child neglect, suspensions, expulsion, class behavior, bus conduct, or other behavioral issues, and documents disciplinary actions.
Keeps records on student discipline and attendance.
Collaborates with counselors, activities personnel, law enforcement, and staff in dealing with student management issues.
Supervises and evaluates teachers and departments, as requested by the Principal.Conducts teacher observations and formal performance evaluations. Provides mentoring to staff and provides direction in their career and professional development.
Assists staff in understanding building and district policies, procedures, and requirements.
Assists in recruiting, screening, selection, assignment, and training of new personnel.

Qualifications Profile

Certification/License:Minnesota State Certification as required for position.
Teaching Certification in related area (i.e., High School or subject area and grade level).
Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or ability to provide own transportation.
EducationBachelor’s and Masters Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in School Administration.
Sixth year, doctorate, or other planned program in related field preferred.
ExperienceExtensive successful teaching experience, preferably at the middle School level, and preferably in more than one grade level.
Successful experience as a n administrator preferred.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a positive, high energy and committed individual to join our coaching staff. A Head Coach will fulfill responsibilities of the position in accordance with the MSHSL and school district guidelines as directed by the Activities Director. The Head Coach plays an important role in instructing student participants in the individual and team fundamentals, strategy and physical training necessary for student-athletes to realize a degree of individual and team success. Employment in the Foley School District is preferred, but not required.

Foley High School is looking for coaches who possess the following:

Previous high school coaching experience preferred – preferably as a head coach or varsity assistant
Ability to motivate and direct student-athletes in an educationally-based atmosphere
Knowledge of fundamentals and skill development in all levels and areas of basketball
Ability to connect, motivate and support participants and assistant coaches throughout the entire program
Strong skills and experience with communication techniques and conflict resolution
Demonstrated positive communications with parents, athletes, officials, community, and administration
Provide direction, partnership and communication with youth programs for overall program development and youth program structure

Duties and Responsibilities:

Instruct students in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to achieve a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence.
Responsible for all matters pertaining to the organization, administration and coaching program. Enforce all rules of the district and the Minnesota State High School League.
Responsible for ensuring students complete and turn in their eligibility forms, sports physicals, and activity fees to the Activities Office prior to the athlete beginning practice. Assure that players and coaches under his/her jurisdiction understand the training rule policy.
Cooperate with the administration, Activities Director, fellow coaches, and students to promote the best interests of the entire activities program.
Schedule meetings to coordinate coaching methods at different levels; help in assisting the Activities Director in assigning duties to all assistant coaches; and assist the Activities Director in determining the success of the lower level programs.
Conform to activities department policy in ordering equipment and supplies for the sport involved.
Prepare a roster of all team members and have it to the Activities Office one week prior to the first contest.
Assume responsibility for conduct of contestants in sport involved.
Accompany and supervise the team to and from all contests.
Plan and supervise all practice sessions, including the weight room, locker room, etc.
Conform to school policy in handling injuries; report all serious injuries immediately to the Activities Director.
Head coaches are encouraged to work with student athletes in the off-season by offering weight room and agility training, practice drills, camp, or scrimmage opportunities.
