What is the opportunity?

Wayzata Public School District 284 is seeking a highly qualified and dynamic candidate to fill a special services supervisor position for students age 18-21 in transition programming.  The supervisor will provide leadership in the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of programs for students with disabilities.
Candidates should have excellent collaboration and communication skills.  A master’s degree or higher in Special Education is required.  In addition, a minimum of three years of experience as a licensed professional working in the field of special education is required.  Administrative and transition program (ages 18-21) experience preferred.  A MN Special Education Administrative License and License from the Board of Teaching in a special education field is required.

Confident Decision Maker:  This is a position in which you will be faced with making decisions on a very consistent basis.  While you will have the support of the Program director, and building administrators, you will often be required to make critical decisions quickly.
Collaboration:  This Special Services program must work collaboratively with others across the district.  In order to be effective, you must work hand-in-hand with building administrators, parents, other staff and professional partners.
Approachable and Supportive Leader:  This position requires a genuine leader that is present in the role.  We are looking for a candidate that likes to positively engage with employees, providing excellent support and mentorship.
Subject Matter Expert: We are looking for a candidate that knows Special Services inside and out.  The ideal candidate will have a variety of classroom experience and strong knowledge of due process.  In addition to being the go-to expert for Special Services and building staff, you will be relied upon to provide expertise to the community.

K-5 Renaissance Teacher

These offerings could be in the areas of computer literacy, art, handwriting, musical activities, creative writing or any other age-appropriate units or lessons.

– NLA serves grades K-12 with an average class size of 18 students. Each grade level is capped at 3 sections of 22 students to maintain small class sizes. The school is a 3-time High-Quality Charter School designee by MDE (2018, 2019, 2020) and has a new K-8 building that opened in fall of 2019.

Special Education Paraprofessional – Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Winona, MN)

Special Education Paraprofessional for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Location: Winona, MN

POSITION:
Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking a talented Special Education Paraprofessional for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program, which is located in Winona, MN. This position is full-time during the 9-month School Year.

EMPLOYMENT DATE: School Year 2022-2023

RATE OF PAY: $15.50 – $22.75 per hour. Benefits package available.

QUALIFICATIONS:Must meet highly qualified criteria: Associates Degree or higher degree, or meets Minnesota Certified ParaPro Assessment
Certified in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Intervention (training provided)
Experience working with students with behavioral needs
Experience and skills in instructional role, use of technology, and interpersonal communications
Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and/or parents verbally and in writing
Ability to work with a team and take direction from supervising teacher
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Experience with Microsoft Office

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):    Assists Deaf and Hard of Hearing teacher in their teaching duties and other general responsibilities such as organizing teaching manuals, providing instructional support, rendering reinforcement activities, etc.
Performing clerical tasks such as maintaining student attendance records, filing student information and progress reports, making copies, creating bulletin boards, etc.
Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher (e.g. reinforcement of IEP goals and objectives, etc.) for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives and student participation
Administers tests, homework, make-up work, etc. for the purpose of supporting teachers in the classroom
Collaborates with supervising teacher(s) or other staff as assigned for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues, and providing services in compliance with established guidelines
Monitors special education students (e.g. classroom, field trips, lunchroom, playground, during life enrichment activities, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment

Secondary Dean of Students

 Position Information:
As a teacher dean and member of the building’s administrative team, assume general responsibility for the education of assigned students. Serves as the educational liaison between the school and the students, helping to ensure the academic and social success of the students by assessing their collective and individual needs. The Dean implements, supervises and assists with the evaluation of programs to provide high expectations and positive support for student achievement, discipline, and attendance and coordinates efforts to develop and maintain effective relationships between the school and families.

  • Provide support services for students in the areas of academics, school rules and other matters.
  • Assist in developing programs to promote positive student behavior as well as intervention strategies.
  • Assist staff and parents in developing student behavioral expectations.
  • Manage student supervision issues and enforce student behavioral expectations; documenting student behavior through the student information system.
  • This position is in the teacher bargaining unit.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Minnesota teaching license for middle school, high school, or K-12.
    MN Administrative Licensure or currently pursuing or willing to pursue Administrative licensure is preferred but not required.
  • At least five years experience in the education field
  • Excellent communication skills to include problem-solving skills with students and adults.
  • Excellent human relations skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with students, families and staff.
  • Demonstrated ethical behavior and confidentiality required.
  • Demonstrated self-starter. Ability to work independently.

Assistant Girls Swim & Dive Coach – $4,855 – Beginning August 15, 2022

QUALIFICATIONS:
Support the head coach in creating a positive and completely balanced program. Work within the system of the program, for the betterment of the individuals and the program as a whole. Work with the head coach to deliver quality and creditable program. Take part in all the peripheral aspects of the program, including scouting, booster functions, banquets, etc. Work with the head coach in evaluation of student-athlete performance and capabilities. Other duties as assigned by head coach or director of athletic activities.
Substantial and positive experience as head or assistant coach at the club or high school level
Knowledge of program needs and goals
Ability to work with all levels of skill and abilities
Bachelor’s degree preferred.

-Must be a licensed nurse (RN or LPN) with the State of Minnesota.
