SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER- High School
1.0 FTE Starting November 7, 2022
7:15 AM – 3:15 PM

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a special education teaching license in the State of Minnesota.
Teachers must be able to demonstrate the highest commitment to student achievement and effective development.
Teachers must have the willingness to adapt to becoming part of a total school effort in educating our students.
Teachers must have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff members, students and parents in providing and promoting positive relationships.
Teachers must be of the highest integrity with a strong commitment to modeling excellence in all aspects of the teacher/student/parent relationships.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

WAGES:
Candidates will be placed on the teacher contract and will receive benefits according to the CEA
contract.

Health Assistant (part-time)

Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department will accept online applications for the position of part-time Health  Assistant (Classification III) in our Secondary Building Health Office.  This is a 9-month position working 3 hours per day; school days only.

Job Summary
Assist school nurse by maintaining routine recordkeeping activities, and providing health services.  Work under the immediate guidance and direction of a registered nurse or licensed school nurse.

Job Functions

Carry out first aid and emergency procedures for ill and injured students as directed by the school nurse.
Administer medication to students according to board policy and district procedures; maintain accurate log of medications dispensed.
Assist with screening activities including measuring height and weight, testing vision and hearing, and scalp.
Use Universal Precautions Procedures when cleaning all body spills and providing wound care.
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required, including accurate, updated health records on all students.
Maintain a daily log of health office, activities, including reportable accidents, communicable disease data, and referrals to school nurse.
Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, Minnesota Department of Health rule, State Board of Education rule, and board policy in health service area.
Keep health office clean and sanitary.
Record information on student health records.
Maintain clinic supply inventory and notify registered nurse or licensed school nurse of supplies as needed.
Participate in staff development training programs as assigned.
Model the 1B Learner Profile for students, families and staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Office Assistant

Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department will accept online applications for the position of Office Assistant (Classification III) at our Secondary Building.  This is a 9-month, full-time position, and reports to the Middle School and High School Principals.  The hourly rate of pay is $22.08 per hour, based on the 2020-22 master agreement between SSP School District #6 and Local 12 Office & Professional Employees International Union.

Job Summary
This position operates the central phone lines, directs visitors and provides clerical support to the building administrators and general office area.

Job Functions

Perform clerical duties such as typing and distribution of correspondence, forms, and surveys, answering phones, schedule appointments, greeting and screening visitors and answering questions or directing visitors to appropriate locations, filing, copying, processing mail, scheduling appointments, organizing department information, and maintaining records.
Greet and sign in all building visitors and ensure policies and procedures are followed.
Manage multiple phone lines (answer, transfer and page).
Assist and direct students, parents, staff, and visitors.
Maintain and coordinate office conference room schedule.
Assist in preparing mailings.
Manage and distribute forms for students (i.e. theft, visitors, Bring A Friend, etc.).
Email teachers when student visitors are coming into the building.
Maintain forms from social services agencies – keep a copy, send original down to records, and call down students.
Manage, update and maintain accurate student attendance records and communication logs with families.
Serve as back up to collect, read, and distribute announcements.
Assist with payment for transcripts and student money collections as needed.
Track attendance and deal with day-to-day obligations of service students.
Manage confiscated cell phones and other electronic devices taken by staff including write up referral, inform office administration, secure the devices once collected, and return to student or parent (situation dependent).
Maintain confidentiality with students, staff, and community.
Assist during evening conferences and schedule handout days.
Model the 1B Learner Profile for students, families and staff.
Serve as a back-up where needed.
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with all students, staff, families and community members.
Adhere to staff and program guidelines and district procedures and policies.
Demonstrated prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
Other duties as assigned.

Elementary Teacher, 2nd Grade – Long Term Replacement
