Duties and Responsibilities:
● Create a program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for
early childhood through first grade students with unique needs or identified disabilities,
such that the students benefit from the general education curriculum to the greatest
extent possible.
● Write Individual Educational Plans (IEP’s) and Due Process Reports in accordance with
MDE regulations.
● Provide instruction to assigned students implementing IEP’s and prepare academic
materials for students following approved curriculum.
● Implement IEP’s, assess students’ performance, and track their progress.
● Update IEP’s throughout the school year to reflect students’ progress and goals.
● Identify the needs of assigned students with disabilities through formal and informal
assessments.
● Communicate with students, parents and staff on a regular basis on student progress.
● Attend department, school, and parent meetings.
● May provide homebound instruction or home visits along with other professionals for
any students who qualify.
● Assess students’ skills and determine their educational needs.
● Adapt general lessons to meet students’ needs.
● Plan activities that are specific to each student’s abilities.
● Teach and monitor goals with students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one.
● Discuss students’ progress with parents, other teachers, counselors, and administrators.
● Supervise and mentor teacher assistants/paras who work with students with disabilities.
● Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade and from school to life outside
of school.
● Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Preschool Teacher – Early Childhood

We’re seeking friendly, energetic, motivated candidates to teach with Rush City Early Childhood. This position is responsible for planning appropriate classes for School Readiness Preschool, ECFE classes and potentially helping to support the Early Childhood Screening Program.

Position Information

School Nurse

60-80 hours per month; not to exceed 720 hours over duration of school year

Performs difficult professional work managing and coordinating health services for Pre-K through 12th grade students and students at the Transition Center, overseeing immunization status of home school children, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Licensed School Nurse and the Director of Student Support Services.

Essential Functions

Provide oversight to 10 locations and health paraprofessionals; train and delegate health related services to health paras and staff; consult and support Community Education staff as needed.
Identify health care needs of students and provide services based on those needs; collaborate with parents, school staff, administration and outside agencies to provide care; assist with IEPs and 504 plans.
Administer health screening to students; provide training for staff and monitor for communicable diseases; provide health related classes; ensure compliance with health care procedures and protocols.
Review and update health office forms; develop health care plans and emergency plans; pull reports and contact families for immunization compliance.
Prepare and maintain up-to-date cumulative health records; review student visits to Health Office; complete local and state reports as required; oversee ordering and inventory of first aid and health supplies and equipment; assist in developing and implementing reports for health services in Synergy; provide annual report to Supervisor and School Board.
Administer emergency first aid for injuries and illnesses; notify parents of injuries or illnesses; supervise health paraprofessionals in the administration of medication.
Remain current on Minnesota statutes relating to health issues and immunizations; work with volunteers to assist with screenings; contact local agencies to provide support and donations for health services; observe data privacy regulations; organize professional training for staff and CPR/First Aid courses.
Support non-pubic schools and homeschool families.
Provides coverage for health offices across the district as needed.
Performs Early Childhood Screening upon request.
Education and Experience

Registered Nurse or related field and minimal experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special services instructional coach (TOSA)

●       This role will have a dedicated focus on interventions and supporting the problem-solving process.

●       The Instructional Coach will support learners and staff directly with learning.

●       The Instructional Coach will assist the Special Services and Teaching and Learning leadership team in identifying areas of professional development and keep up to date with best practices and effective research-based instructional practices to support learner groups identified through the state as being overidentified in the area of specific learning disabilities.

●       The Instructional Coach will provide personalized support and direct modeling that is based on identified goals and needs of individual learners and teachers to best support student growth, specifically in groups of learners that have been overidentified as having a disability.

●       Review demographic data trends for interventions, referrals and qualifications for services to determine if programming and supports are effective.

●       Participate in department, school, and district meetings, such as iTeam, EL, ADSIS and IPR.

●       Collaborate with the MTSS Coordinator.

●        Perform all other related work required to ensure the effective implementation of interventions  and support of learner growth.
