Position Summary:
Provide high quality instruction to identified students and serve as a collaborative member of our English Language Learner (EL) Team.  Position follows a co-teaching model, with EL Teacher collaborating with general education classroom teacher, working in collaboration to meet students’ needs in the area of literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.

Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Consistent and reliable attendance.

Bachelor’s degree with coursework in Education, certificate and/or experience in the area of reading intervention education preferred, or related field and moderate experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Ideal candidate will have a strong equity background, believing and ensuring all kids learn at high levels.  A strong demonstrated use of 21st Century learning strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve the highest levels. A strong background in literacy and language is preferred with in depth understanding and application of language acquisition and WIDA Standards.

Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.

Substitute Nurse

General Purpose of Job:  To inspire and prepare all students with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning.  Provide emergency care for sick or injured school children, assess the health status of students and school personnel, advise students, parents and staff regarding health issues, and conduct preventive and health education services.

Responsibilities:

Assess health status and perform first aid, emergency care and other illness interventions according to school district guidelines.
Administer medication and/or specialized health care treatments to students as directed by physicians and authorized by parents or guardians.
Assess the health and developmental status of the school age student, through district health screening programs.  Facilitate referrals to health care agencies or facilities when requested.
Promote and maintain health and well-being of students, families and school personnel by health teaching and health counseling.
Develop Individual Health/Emergency Plans for those students with special health needs. Communicate with families, teachers, and staff regarding the development and implementation of these plans.  Periodically evaluate plans and revise as necessary.
Prevent and control communicable disease through health education, assessment of student health status, and implementation of the state immunization law.
When required participate in staffings regarding students with special needs and assume responsibility for contributions to the health component of the IEP (Individual Education Plan).
Maintain health records on all students enrolled in the school.
Excuse or readmit students for health reasons in accordance with the building procedure and county health department exclusion guidelines.
Complete student accident report forms for students needing doctor’s attention and/or resulting in a loss of school time.
Train and supervise volunteers/staff whenever they are used in the health services program.
Serve as a resource to faculty for health education purposes.
Required Qualifications:

Must be a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse currently licensed in the State of Minnesota
Basic first aid and health screening.
Ability to communicate and foster positive working relationships with students, parents and staff.
Ability to teach health information to student groups.
Current CPR certification.

Desired Qualifications:

Public health background.
Computer skills.

Nutrition Services Assistant (4.0 hours)

Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department will accept online applications for the position of Nutrition Services Assistant at our Secondary Building.  This position works 4.0 hours per day; student-contact days only.

Job Summary:
Perform a variety of assigned tasks in the dish room, serving and cashiering under established rules, policies and procedures.

Job Functions

Assemble, prepare, and serve food items according to child nutrition guidelines, standardized recipes and directions from the Cook Manager.
Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots and pans, and other items in dish room using procedures established in HACCP plans.
Rotate working in serving area, cashiering, food prep and dish room as assigned.
Clean and handle food properly using procedures established in HACCP plans.
Monitor meal components and claim meals for reimbursement that adhere to federal guidelines and cashiering for ala carte.
Utilize safety measures as it pertains to use and operation of equipment in the kitchen including utensils, knives, and other equipment
Represent a positive public relations environment with customers
Attend education classes, training classes and or workshops as required
Other duties as assigned
