Principal Job Description – Elementary School Principal:
Specific Essential Functions of Individual Classifications within the Duluth Public SchoolsCoordinate supervision and safety in all school areas during the regular school day: such as busses, breakfast, lunch recess
Coordinate the problem solving process as part of an MTSS (academic and behavior) framework (tiered supports, progress monitoring, etc.)
Oversee 504, IEP and special services for students Work with early childhood leadership to support early childhood programs and coordinate PreK-3 alignment
Oversee student referrals for extended year programs (afterschool and summer school)
Oversee use of facility
Oversee kindergarten roundup for incoming students
Oversee student discipline, behavior and attendance. Communicate with county services as needed (i.e. educational neglect).
Perform other related duties as assigned by district administration.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY/SCHOOL DISTRICT:

The GMRTC Joint Powers is comprised of the Greenbush-Middle River (GMR) and Tri-County (TC) school districts in northwest Minnesota. The offices for the two schools are in Greenbush, MN, and Karlstad, MN. The two school districts have the following approximate enrollments: GMR – 226, TC – 176.

  • Has demonstrated leadership skills with a variety of staff members in the past.
  • Acts with honesty and in an ethical manner with the School Board, staff, and community.
  • Has experience in school finance.
  • Is visible and accessible to the School Board, staff, students, parents, and community.

Previous superintendent experience preferred, but not required.

SALARY/CONTRACT:  A competitive compensation and benefits package will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications. The contract length is negotiable as provided in Minnesota statute.

Learning Disabilities Teacher – Long Term Substitute
