Position Purpose:  Provide for the academic,social/emotional and educational planning support of secondary school students at the middle school level.

Teacher- Library Media Specialist

The Media Specialist provides the leadership and expertise necessary to develop, implement and maintain an information media program that is equitable for all and reflects the mission, goals, and vision of the school and district.

REPORTS TO:
Building principal or person designated by the district administrator.

SUPERVISES:
Students, student teachers or others as assigned.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Media Specialist provides:
1. Technology and information literacy skills instruction based on state and national standards
2. Collaborates and consults with staff for the purpose of integrating technology and information literacy skills into subject matter instruction
3. Administers media center operations, programming and resources
4. Works with all students to locate and effectively and ethically use 21st century tools and informational resources to support their personalized learning
5. Enrich and support classroom instruction by assisting teachers in the integration of media and technological hardware and software into district curriculum and classroom lesson plans
6. Maintains current and in-depth knowledge of research and best practices in all aspects of the library media field that affect student learning and school and district policies and programs
7. Directs all activities related to the management of the library media program, including acquisition, maintenance, circulation, inventory, and use of print and electronic resources and equipment
8. Participates in setting the district’s vision and strategic plan for digital learning and fosters a culture of collaboration and innovation to empower teachers and learners
9. Attend department, school and parent meetings or functions
10. Other job-related duties as assigned

High School Principal

North Branch Area Public Schools (NBAPS) offers a well-rounded education to bring out each student’s gifts and talents. With programs unique to the area, high school learners benefit from programming that exposes students to a vast array of learning opportunities.

North Branch Area High School is in the process of a redesign. Some changes include a shift from trimesters to semesters, flex time built into the schedule, and ongoing expansion of opportunities for students to apply learning beyond the classroom. College in the schools (CIS) and Career and Technical (CTE) courses offer robust opportunities for each student to find their passion.

Job Summary: Provide collaborative, innovative leadership to tap into the creativity of staff and students. Lead with positive energy and commitment to provide each student with programming that aligns with their personal purpose and passion. Implement the policies of the school board under the direction of the superintendent of schools; lead and direct the instructional program and supervise personnel within the individual school, partner with district leadership team to ensure alignment of educational programming.

Start Date: July 1, 2022. This is a 12-month position.

Job Summary

Metro ECSU is hiring multiple full and part-time public health, mental health and/or school health support staff to serve as liaisons to and resources for school nursing to local education agencies. Your work on the health supports team will be crucial in advancing the well-being, academic success, and lifelong health of students. In this role you will focus on COVID-19 planning, response and recovery for local education agencies and is part of a COVID-19 Public Health Workforce grant.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Providing consultation, technical assistance, and training to agencies and local school districts on elements identified by the MDH Public Health Workforce grant
  • Identifying, developing and/or disseminating information and resources about best practices related to the five principals of school nursing and COVID-19 planning, response and recovery to assure optimal services are provided to address the health, safety, and wellness for children and youth in school and early childhood settings Initiating, participating in, and utilizing research to assess and monitor status and behavioral health needs of children and youth
  • Collaborate with State COVID-19 School Health Workforce and other community members and organizations to support COVID-19 prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives for school-based health programs
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
