POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the overall coordination of educational programs and services relative to the District’s mission and Achievement Integration Plan. Provides leadership in supporting measured progress in student outcomes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Program ImprovementDirects the development of the strategic plan for the implementation and evaluation of a well-balanced, comprehensive district-wide Plan for Integration Equity and Excellence in conjunction with the Minnesota Desegregation Rule and District 742 policies.
Works directly with the Multi-District Collaboration Council (MDCC).
Oversees the Achievement Integration Plan accountability measures and plans for improvement in each area.
Curriculum/Instruction/AssessmentCollaborates with the district’s Learning and Teaching Team in the development and implementation of learning opportunities that support the District/School Improvement Plans.
Assists with the planning of professional development opportunities for staff.
Provides leadership in data driven decision making to improve student outcomes.
Oversees the development and evaluation of parent programs.
Works with the district’s Learning and Teaching Team to enhance and increase resources to ensure that every learner sees themselves reflected in curriculum, learning strategies, school environment, materials, etc.

ManagementIn collaboration with Building Principals, supervises certified and non-certified personnel including forecasting needs, recruiting, interviewing, and recommending for hire, staff development, observation, evaluation of performance, discipline and assigning work.
Collaborates with current grant personnel and identifies potential grant proposals that support the Achievement Integration Plan.
Directs the planning, development, budgeting and evaluation of Achievement Integration Plan.

Communication/InvolvementDirects the completion of periodic reports to the Board of Education, Minnesota Department of Education and other community agencies.
Collaborates and maintains relationships with in- and out of district initiatives and programs.
Maintains communication within the school district, the Multi-District Collaboration Council, community partners, and the whole community through a variety of sources.

2021-22 Elementary Chinese Immersion K-6 Teachers

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

1.    Demonstrate native or near native fluency in Mandarin Chinese.  (“Superior” rating under the ACTFL Proficiency Guildelines).
2.    Demonstrate English Language proficiency to allow communication with parents.
3.    Demonstrate successful experience in Total Physical Response (TPR) methdology for teaching in an immersion program.
4.    Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the District approved curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
5.    Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
6.    Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
7.    Evaluate pupils’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records in a timely fashion prepare progress reports.
8.    Identify pupil needs and make appropriate referrals and develop strategies for individual education plans.
9.   Communicate regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of Schoology, newsletters, phone calls, e-mails, conferences, etc.
10.  Work in a supportive and collaborative manner with colleagues and supervisors.
11.  Maintain and improve professional skills by participating in building and department meetings, PLC’s, formal coursework, workshops, and seminars in an effort to stay current with best teaching practices.

Specific Responsibilities:

Part-Time Cleaner (Multiple positions)

Clean and disinfect cafeteria tables, counters tops and conference room tables
Collect and remove all trash, shredding and recycling in assigned areas.
Vacuum, mop and sweep designated areas of building.
Clean restrooms and locker rooms as assigned.
Clean windows, doors and mirrors in entry ways and other areas as assigned.
Clean carpets, stairways and floors as assigned.
Dust furniture and equipment.
Report any issues with equipment or materials to supervisor.
Lock up building or designated area as require.
Move furniture, set up for events as needed.
Follow district cleaning procedures and standard safety procedures, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Substitute for building engineer as needed.

Interim- Elementary Principal

JOB SUMMARY:
Under direction of the Building Principal with support from the District’s Health Service Coordinator (LSN). The School Health Professional provides direct school nursing services; oversees an elementary school health office, assists in planning school health programs; and serves as resource person to staff in the elementary building.

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

Develops, oversees and evaluates the school health program within an elementary school.
Assists the District’s Health Service Coordinator in developing, implementing and evaluating a system to identify and provide for the health needs of all students.
Implements a health protocol for students with special health care needs, including the administration of medications and other medically directed treatments.
Provides first aid care and medically prescribed services.
Screens and conducts health assessments for students and staff.
Completes district health reports for submission to local, county and state officials as required.
Maintains security of school health supplies.
Serves as a resource person on health issues.
Monitors compliance of school health program with federal, state and local laws, regulations and policies.
Corresponds with parents on health needs of children.
Prepares health reports and implements procedures as directed by supervisor and/or health department (county and/or state).
Promotes and assists in communicable disease control through immunization programs, early detection, monitoring and reporting.
Provides health related instruction in the classroom, as directed.

Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:

Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as apparent or assigned.
Attends training sessions, conferences, seminars, department and district meetings.
Serve on District committees, task forces, work groups, ect., as requested.
Keeps abreast of changing developments, trends, health laws, rules, procedures and processes to help insure district compliance.
Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.

Knowledge Skills and Ability Required:

Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the MN Board of Nursing.
Working knowledge of the principles, practices and ethical standards of Nursing; relevant state and federal laws, rules and regulations; and applicable district policies and procedures.
Ability to deal effectively and appropriately with students, parents and other educational professionals regarding student health concerns and problems.
The skill and ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Considerable knowledge of child growth and development.
Prefer Bi-lingual (Spanish).
Meet professional nurse requirements of school, district and state.
Knowledge of relevant technology.
Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
