Benton-Stearns Education District is located in Central MN and serves six member districts including: Foley, Holdingford, Kimball, ROCORI, Sauk Rapids-Rice and Sartell-St. Stephen.

The Behavior Analyst will provide behavior analytic assessments, support the creation of behavior intervention plans and work directly with special education teams to support students enrolled in our member districts and level IV programs. The position provides consultation to member district staff in behavior management techniques for prevention, early intervention, and crisis management.

The Benton-Stearns Education District #6383 is seeking qualified applicants for full time (1.0) teaching positions for our Setting IV and residential programs for the 2022-23 School Year.  We have programs located in the Minnesota communities of Cold Spring, Sartell, and Sauk Rapids.  We have a variety of teaching positions available.

At Benton Stearns, we serve students from our 6 member districts of: Foley, Holdingford, Kimball, Rocori, Sartell, and Sauk Rapids-Rice.  Students in our programs have been referred to us by their home districts due to needing extra support not available in the general education setting.  Our programs support students with a variety of disabilities and significant social, emotional, and academic learning challenges in grades kindergarten to twelve plus. During their time at Benton-Stearns, students learn life, social, and academic skills with the goal of reintegrating back to their home schools. We are relationship based and use positive supports to increase motivation and decrease unexpected behaviors.  We offer small class sizes with low adult to student ratios.  Case management typically ranges from 6-10 students. 

Applicants should have the ability and skills to work with high needs students. These positions will be responsible for development of positive behavioral interventions, classroom curriculum, case management and due process. The candidate will be expected to communicate effectively with parents, students, district staff, social workers, probation officers and co-workers.

Job Title: Communications and Marketing Manager

Work Schedule: Full-time, 12-month position

District Overview:
School District 197 serves the communities of Eagan, Inver Grove Heights, Lilydale, Mendota, Mendota Heights, Sunfish Lake, and West St. Paul.  The student body is highly diverse racially, linguistically, and socioeconomically.  With approximately 5000 students, it is large enough to offer a comprehensive and rigorous program of academics and activities and small enough to have a strong sense of community and personalization.  The broader community takes a lot of pride in the district and provides tremendous support.

Job Summary:
The Communications and Marketing Manager plans, oversees, and executes a comprehensive and proactive district-wide communications, marketing, and public relations program. Key areas of work include the implementation of strategies that effectively keep stakeholders informed and promote the school district.  This is accomplished in partnership with, and oversight of, a communications specialist and site liaisons.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Directs and executes a strategic communications and marketing plan that supports School District 197’s goals and mission and enhances the school district’s image in the community.
Develops publications, video, social media content, web content, and strategic messaging tailored for key audiences and stakeholders.
Serves as the district webmaster and manages social media accounts.
Develops marketing materials, news releases, and other print/electronic communications.
Serves as the district’s liaison and key spokesperson with the media and community organizations through maintenance of contacts and positive working relationships.
Assists site, program, and department leaders in communication efforts.
Assists the superintendent in developing and implementing major information campaigns for district initiatives, elections, or events.
Identifies opportunities for positive media coverage.
Anticipates emerging issues and concerns and develops appropriate communications regarding those issues.
Ensures consistent adherence to the district and school brand standards.
Supervises and directs the work of the communications specialist and site liaisons.
Coordinates district surveys and annual collection of community feedback.
Required Qualifications:

BA and minimum of 5 years experience in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or related field.
Demonstrated strong oral, written, and editing skills.
Experience in layout and design of publications.
Skilled in use of technologies as they apply to communications and public relations, including graphic design, social media management, video production, website management, photography, and printing techniques.
Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community.
Experience developing and managing budgets.
Ability to work successfully under pressure on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Experience in and commitment to an equity-driven work environment.
Desired Qualifications:

Successful track record developing the communications strategy and messaging for tax levy campaigns,
Experience using Finalsite, Peachjar, Blackboard Connect, Canva and the Google suite of applications.
Experience in public education.

Audiologist

Benton-Stearns Education District is seeking applicants for a part-time licensed Audiologist.  This position is for a total of 50 days of service.

Benton-Stearns Education District is located in Central MN and serves six member districts including: Foley, Holdingford, Kimball, ROCORI, Sauk Rapids-Rice and Sartell-St. Stephen.  The Audiologist will be required to travel between member districts in order to provide the necessary services and support.  Compensation for mileage between districts will be reimbursed at the federal rate.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

– Fit, adjust and monitor the amplification equipment.
– Evaluate hearing and ear function and report findings to health professionals, parents, and educators.
– Assist with determination of eligibility for service.
– Assess the benefit of amplification systems to better program for student needs.
– Consult with educators regarding hearing loss, amplification and acoustics.
– Evaluate classroom acoustics/listening environments.
– Advocate for appropriate assistive amplification to meet the needs of students with hearing loss.

Preferred Qualifications:

Skills in clinical hearing evaluation.
Knowledge of real ear probe mic amplification evaluation, middle ear assessment, ostocopy, amplification benefit determination and troubleshooting, ear mold impressions.
Optimizing amplification in the classroom ranging from simple issues (batteries to teacher/para/interpreter) to commitment to monitor the proper use and function of the equipment.
