Position Start Date: August 30, 2021 – June 10, 2022
Days/Hours:  1.0 FTE Monday through Friday 7:30 am – 3:30 pm
Responsible To:  Student Services Administrator

Position Purpose:  Provide for the academic,social/emotional and educational planning support of secondary school students at our non public schools.

Licensure Requirements:  Valid State of Minnesota licensure in Guidance and Counseling or School Social Work
Compensation and Yearly Duration of Employment:  Benefits of employment as negotiated between District 112 and the Chaska Education Association (CEA).

Early Childhood School Readiness Educator

Position Summary:
This School Readiness Educator position delivers two sections of School Readiness in a 163 day instructional model, with additional days for student orientation, selection, staff work days and professional development days. School Readiness provides a developmentally appropriate environment that stimulates student development and mastery using the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress for cognitive, social/emotional, language, literacy and physical/motor development of 4-year-olds.  This position will work with one AM Section (8:15-10:45) and one PM Section (12:15-2:45) Each section meets for 2.5 hours, 5 days per week.  School Readiness is an inclusive educational setting serving 16 students/section.  Copies of program calendar and class schedules are available upon request. The successful candidate will also work with a classroom program assistant and assigned ECSE team members to create a warm and welcoming environment for children, their families and professional colleagues.

Qualifications:
A valid Minnesota teaching license in early childhood, with a 3-5 Pre-K endorsement is required. Training and background in continuous improvement, MN Early Childhood Indicators of Progress and Cor Advantage required.  Required curriculum experience also sought include Fountas and Pinnell, Everyday Math, Visual Phonics. Second-Step and SMART.  Past experience using Work Sampling, RTI and IGDI’s wil be considered. Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.  Demonstrated use of research-based practices and approaches to ensure all learners achieve at the highest levels also required.  Current first aid and CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain within first ten-weeks of employment at candidates expense.

Teacher – REACH Progam

Position Summary:
This position serves as the primary teacher of the REACH program that serves selected students in grades 6-8–two sections in each grade.  REACH stands for Responsibility-Education–Academics-Character-Hard Work. Class sizes are small (10-13 per section) and are supported by a full-time School Social Worker. Students work on goal setting in their personal and academic lives as well as personal growth. Their motto is: This is your life we are talking about. Nothing is more important. A background in understanding ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and/or working with students who have experienced trauma or need additional emotional support would be beneficial.

Qualifications:
Valid MN 6-12 teaching license required.
Commitment to an equitable education experience for all.
Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence.
Consistent and reliable attendance.
