We are looking for a dynamic leader to be our next Coordinator of ECFE and Minnetonka Preschool!
Job Duties: Provide leadership in the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the Minnetonka Community Education Programs: Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), Minnetonka School Readiness, Minnetonka birth-5 outreach programs, Home Visitor programs, MCEC child care, Minnetonka Preschool, and Child Family & Support Program (CFSP). Serve on the MCE Leadership Team, the MCEC Leadership Team, the District Admin. Council. Tour de Tonka Rest Stop Host. Supervise, train, and evaluate all licensed and non-licensed staff in these programs. Manage program budgets and financial expenditures. This position may also include some teaching in the classroom.

Position:
Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking a talented, self-motivated Director of Special Education. This position’s locations are TBD.
Qualifications: Appropriate Special Education background and certification as a Director of Special Education
Knowledge of educational curriculum, individualization of instruction, and analytic teaching approaches
Knowledge of and experience working in a level III or IV Behavior and ASD Program is preferred
Skill in interpreting Special Education needs to administrators, teachers, parents, and other professionals
Demonstrate leadership skills
Knowledgeable in conducting activities directed toward group planning with outcomes of goals and/or action plans
Ability to take direction and work efficiently and effectively as part of an administrative team
Competencies:Must be able to work in team decision-making situations
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Must possess ability to problem-solve
Must possess ability to lead teams and coordinate with others, such as Special Education Leaders, Administration, and teachers
Travel Requirements:Travel among the HVED member school districts is required.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):Responsible to the Executive Director of Hiawatha Valley Education District
Works with the district administration and/or appropriate designee(s) in assigned school districts
Responsible for supporting, supervising, observing, and evaluating HVED itinerant staff, as assigned
Completes restrictive procedures reporting for individual districts
Provide consultation on strategies to assist learners
Assists with monthly monitoring of budgets and grants. Helps collect information from all sub-contracts/sub-award recipients.
Develop and maintain program monitoring and evaluation instruments and procedures to ensure appropriateness of instruction
Complete special education state forms for the Education District and member districts

This is a .5 position at Rush City High School. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for creating a program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for students with unique needs, such that the students benefit from the general education curriculum to the greatest extent possible. Special Education Teachers provide instruction to assigned students implementing IEPs, and prepare academic materials for students following approved curricula. Special education case management includes preparation of IEPs, reports, assessment, and leading IEP team meetings. Experience with PBIS will be given preference. Special Education Licensure through MDE required. Any special education licensure is encouraged to apply, strong consideration will be given to those with SLD, EBD or ABS licensure.
