Job Functions

Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods.  Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Deliver the district’s written, taught and assessed curriculum.
Maintain knowledge and skills with IB Program changes and updates.
Create a positive environment to ensure successful learning for all students.
Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress, and to determine priorities for their children’s social, emotional and academic growth.
Partner with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to support students’ academic and social-emotional development.
Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
Adhere to all district policies and procedures.
Support the district’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan.
Guide and counsel students with adjustment and/or academic issues or special academic interests.
Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of states and schools. Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula.
Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students’ needs and progress.
Administer standardized, formative and state mandated assessments and interpret results to determine student strengths and areas of need.
Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
Understand and maintain boundaries and confidentiality with students, families and staff.
Other duties as assigned.

Food Service Director

JOB GOAL:
Manages and supervises the overall operations and staff engaged in the production and service of meals, food, and catering services provided by the department in accordance with relevant federal and state guidelines.

JOB RESPOSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for the development of food menus that meet the requirements of the USDA and the national school lunch, breakfast, and summer programs.
  2. Evaluate program participation, meal acceptability and financial operations in an effort to meet the program goals of being a self-supporting operation.
  3. Procure all food and food supply items.  Meet with vendors and recommend the purchase of food service equipment on a long-range basis.  Identify and evaluate the availability of USDA commodities.
  4. Assign, monitor, and train food service staff to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency and food service standard of the department.  Evaluate and conduct formal evaluations on staff performance.
  5. Counsel, train, and direct kitchen managers with problem solving, personnel issues, and operational issues involved in the coordination of operations at their assigned sites.
  6. Prepare and submit various financial statements, reports and vouchers to state authorities, school board, or other required agencies.
  7. Process free and reduced lunch applications.  Collaborate with applicable departments or positions as necessary.
  8. Prepare and recommend the food service annual budget.  Monitor department revenues and expenditures for all service programs.
  9. Prepare equipment/purchasing specifications for all major purchases per the established policy limits including milk/bread vendor agreements and equipment purchases.
  10. Maintain inventory records for all food service supplies and food items received and used.
  11. Plan site schedules and arrange for substitutes.  May be required to perform kitchen duties if short staff.
  12. Review all extra duty time sheets to ensure proper recording and payment for all of work performed.
  13. Perform other duties as required to provide for an efficient and effective school food service program.
