Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department will accept on-line applications for the position of Part-Time Cleaner at Central Square Community Center.  The hours for this position are typically 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (3 hours per day), year-round.  This position begins as soon as possible.

Job Summary
This position cleans and maintains designated areas of building to ensure a clean, pleasant and safe environment for employees, students, and the general public.

Job Functions

Vacuum, mop and sweep designated areas of building.
Collect and remove all trash, shredding and recycling in assigned areas.
Clean restrooms and locker rooms as assigned.
Clean windows, doors and mirrors in entry ways and other areas as assigned.
Clean carpets, stairways and floors as assigned.
Dust furniture and equipment.
Clean and disinfect cafeteria tables, counter tops and conference room tables
Report any issues with equipment or materials to supervisor.
Lock up building or designated area as require.
Move furniture, set up for events as needed.
Follow district cleaning procedures and standard safety procedures, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Substitute for building engineer as needed.
Other duties as assigned

Position Start Date:  February 2021
Days/Hours: Year-Round; M-F, 8.0 paid hrs/day; 2:45 p.m. – 11:15 p.m.
Banded/Graded:  B-2-1
Salary:  $23.67 + $0.35/hour (shift differential)

Responsible To:  Director of Buildings & Grounds, Building Principal
Position Purpose:  The night lead custodian coordinates the service for all user groups, the cleaning tasks and operation of various types of cleaning equipment to care for and maintain assigned buildings and related facilities; and perform related work as required.

Qualifications/Physical Requirements:

Lift 70 lbs waist height occasionally
Lift 50 lbs to chest high regularly
Extended walking
Ability to work with cleaning chemicals
Must be in good general health
Previous experience in cleaning and building maintenance
State of Minnesota Boilers License (class dependent on size of equipment in building) – within one year of placement. Based on the current equipment in Chaska Middle School East a 2nd Class license will be required within one year of placement.

Compensation and Yearly Duration of Employment:  this position is posted as a full-time (40 hrs/week) twelve (12) month position.  Starting salary for such position is $23.67/hr.  In addition, the pay includes an additional $0.10/hr for each level of boilers license when licenses are obtained and $0.35/hr for shift differential.  Eligible for benefits as negotiated with Union Local #70 and District 112.  .

Special Education Teacher (School Year 2021-2022)

This Special Education teacher position is part of Owatonna Middle School’s educational program. The teacher works within a team structure to provide specialized instruction to students with multicategorical disabilities. The team structure includes general education teachers, other special education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administration. The teacher may co-teach within the general education setting or teach individuals or small groups within the special education setting. The teacher plans jointly with the general education teacher to provide the accommodations and modifications necessary in order for the student to access and make progress within the general education curriculum.

Position Summary:
This Special Education teacher position is part of Owatonna High School’s Stride program. Stride classrooms provide specialized instruction to students with multicategorical cognitive delays who require a fuctional curriculum. Stride teachers work closely within a team structure which includes paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administration. Students also access general education courses as appropriate to their educational plan; the Stride teacher plans jointly with the general education teacher to provide the accommodations and modifications necessary in order for the student to access and make progress within the general education curriculum.

Stride teachers are highly relational, yet also possess strong skills in curriculum differentiation based on students’ developmental strengths and challenges. Lessons are individualized and delivered with creativity and enthusiasm in order to maximize student engagement and learning, with the goal of increasing student independence.

Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods.  Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Deliver the district’s written, taught and assessed curriculum.
Maintain knowledge and skills with IB Program changes and updates.
Create a positive environment to ensure successful learning for all students.
Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress, and to determine priorities for their children’s social, emotional and academic growth.
Partner with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to support students’ academic and social-emotional development.
Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
Adhere to all district policies and procedures.
Support the district’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan.
