Primary Function:  The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the buildings and grounds.  These responsibilities include all preventive maintenance, repair, cleaning, and upkeep of the physical plant and grounds.  He/she is also responsible for campus security, the school safety program, and budgeting for department needs.

General Responsibilities:

Supervision of all employees in the Facilities Department

Interview and hire, along with a designated committee, all buildings, and grounds employees

Train, supervise and evaluate all members of the department

Establish goals, objectives, and standards of performance for members of the department

Develop and implement operating procedures, evaluating work assignments to assure reasonable and equitable workloads

Provide continuing education opportunities for members of the department

Schedule and approve overtime, leave and vacation for members of the department

Recommend and develop division policy and procedures

Cleaning of the campus

Schedule and supervise in the most efficient manner to assure cleanliness of all buildings and grounds

Schedule and provide for periodic deep-cleaning of all buildings during vacations

Preventive maintenance, upkeep, and repair of the physical plant and grounds

Prepare and oversee a preventive maintenance program; identify existing and potential facility issues; write proposals and corresponding action plans

Maximize in-house capability to service and repair plant facilities, equipment, facility systems; have the ability to assist with mechanical, electrical and plumbing repairs as necessary

Maintain appropriate records including work orders, preventive maintenance activities, and staff records
School safety

Service and maintain all elements of the school safety systems, including sprinklers, exit lighting, extinguishers, smoke detectors, evacuation route signage, alarm systems, etc.

Periodically inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment to assure conformance to established standards and policies

Participate in insurance inspections and claims investigations; serves as liaison with the fire chief and building inspectors

Oversee compliance with all relevant federal state and local laws, including buildings and safety codes

Campus security

Maintain a schedule of school activities and arranges for locking and unlocking of buildings on a daily basis; including coordination of security alarm system during non-school hours

Assign building keys to appropriate members of the community and maintains records of those key assignments

Building access control and security cameras

Utilities

Monitor the energy management system to ensure continuous efficiency of the heating and cooling systems

Schedule the maintenance and servicing of the boilers and cooling systems

Monitor service from the utility companies to ensure quality and locate potential areas for trouble-shooting and efficiency

Assistance with capital projects

Prepare and prioritize a list of capital needs

Work with Architects, engineers, construction managers, and consultants to develop specifications, bid and oversee the implementation of new construction and capital improvements projects

Creates requests for proposals and negotiate contract/vendor proposals.

Evaluate completed work to see that all specifications and needs have been met

Monitor change orders and billings to ensure accuracy and approve payment only after satisfactory completion of work

Monitoring expenditures and budget of the Facilities Department

Purchase supplies as needed for janitorial, grounds and maintenance of the buildings

Negotiate service contracts

Approve all invoices

Monitor expenditures to stay within budget

Recommend annual budget amounts for janitorial supplies, utilities, repairs and maintenance, and capital expenditures

1.0 FTE EARLY CHILDHOOD HELP ME GROW & LEARNING FACILITATOR

The Help Me Grow and Learning Facilitator will support licensed staff who work with children ages 0-12 years for approximately 20 hours per week. Specific duties include serving as the central point of intake for referrals for children living in Rice County, collecting and tracking data of referrals, researching and maintaining a list of community resources, representing Help Me Grow at local community outreach functions, and lead and take minutes at local HMG meetings and disseminate to the committee.

Approximately 20 hours per week will be facilitating staff and students through our Kid’s World programming (ages PK-GR 5). Specific duties include guiding staff and students through day to day activities, making sure staff are scheduled and attending their scheduled times, annual reports to DHS, support in compliance with licensing requirements. Other duties as assigned.

Hours:  10 Month position- August 15-June 15

Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000/yr

Job Summary: Responsible for supporting and implementing the Mounds View School District’s Chemical Health Program.

Essential FunctionsAssists with initiating support groups for parents, students and families through existing resources within the District and community; implements interagency partnerships relative to prevention and intervention needs of students.
Responds to events, concerns and crises in the area of drug abuse; provides intervention and support for students with chemical health issues.
Assures the delivery of substance use and abuse prevention curricula; develops an in-service training program for teachers and staff in the area of chemical health; relays current information regarding emerging chemical health and research trends to faculty and staff.
Develops practices regarding chemical use; works with principals and support staff to evaluate the procedures related to the policies to determine effectiveness; provides consultation to staff regarding professional issues in the area of chemical health.
Partners as a resource to student support service and principals when an issue arises in their building.
Provides leadership in developing resources for parents; provides information on resources for parents of services outside the district in the area of chemical health; develops participation opportunities for parents, as appropriate.
Attends meetings in order to connect building leadership with community resources to meet a need that arises.
Provides case management for identified students relative to delivery of county, third party, state, or school service to meet chemical health needs. Performs other related duties as assigned.
