Worthington Middle School is seeking an Academic Behavioral Strategist (ABS) Teacher to join our Special Education Department.  The candidate should have a current ABS Special Education license in the state of Minnesota (or be actively pursuing such licensure.)  Applicants should be patient and kind; understand case management, IEP development, knowledge of systematic academic and behavior interventions and be willing to be trained on Sped Forms.  Experience with iPads in the classroom would be beneficial.

Kindergarten Teacher (two positions)

Job Functions

Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods.  Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Create a positive environment to ensure successful learning for all students.
Maintain knowledge and skills with IB Program changes and updates.
Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress, and to determine priorities for their children’s social, emotional and academic growth.
Partner with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to support students’ academic and social-emotional development.
Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of states and schools.
Collaborate with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula.
Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students’ needs and progress.
Administer standardized, formative and state mandated assessments and interpret results to determine student strengths and areas of need.
Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
Model the IB Learner Profile with students, families and staff
Adhere to all district policies and procedures.
Support the district’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan.
Understand and maintain boundaries and confidentiality with students, families and staff.

Job Description

Central Lakes College is hiring an administrator that will cultivate CLC’s culture of caring and our strategic pillars: inspires learning, advances innovation, and transforming lives, for our Liberal Arts and Sciences Division located on the Brainerd Campus. The Dean will assist in leading the college’s efforts to promote a relationship-based culture that respects and honors the talents of the employees of CLC. The Dean will provide leadership and supervision for 27-Liberal Arts departments, 2-technical programs, along with OER, e-learning, the tutoring center, library, Honors program, theatre, music and performing arts, study abroad program, and the transfer pathway program. Working under the direction of the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs, the Dean will be the key contact for the Adult Basic Education, and the Developmental Education and serve on the Academic Affairs and Standards Council.

The Brainerd Lakes area is an active, growing community offering a wide array of activities and amenities. Minimum Qualifications (expected to have to enter job)

  • • Master’s degree required from an accredited college or university.

  • • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills including public speaking to effectively communicate with various stakeholder groups.
