Speech Language Pathologist (1 Year Temp) – District Wide

Position Summary:
Speech-language pathologists provide a complete array of services to students with identified communication problems, including students whose primary disability is “speech-language impairment” and students with primary disabilities who have needs in the area of communication (for example, students with autism, cognitive disabilities, or developmental delays).

Primary Job Functions:

  • Plan and implement appropriate educational programs for individuals.
  • Implement educational plans as describe on individual IEP (IIIP/IFSP) and train building staff as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate records and reports.  Collect data on progress on goals and objectives for each student and meet all required timelines.
  • Contribute to and participate in the building student support teams.
  • Serve as an IEP case manager for students with speech-language impairments.
  • Facilitate team meetings to review student progress and develop IEP’s as related to student needs.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, educators, and administrators regarding student programs and progress.
  • Collaborate with students, families, related service providers, outside agencies, and other team members to promote growth of each student.
  • Work cooperatively with general education teachers and staff and provide building training as needed.
  • Create and maintain a professional working relationship with families and staff.
  • Obtain and demonstrate knowledge of general education curriculum including the grade level outcomes and state standards.
  • Conduct assessments, comprehensive report results, and follow Minnesota state criteria in area(s) of special education eligibility as well as mandated timelines.
  • Implement the use of augmentative and assistive technology devices for communication.
  • Follow district due process compliance, third-party billing, program data collection and funding reports.
  • Determine and complete purchase orders for supplies, materials, and equipment based on student needs.
  • Participate in building and District level professional development activities.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities in certification areas as directed by the Director of Special Services and/or the Building Principal.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:
This position is for ECSE Teachers (ages 0-5).  This position predominantly covers ages 3-5; however, ages 0-2 may be included depending on student/family needs.  The position performs professional work providing a broad range of consulting, teaching and direct instructional services to children with special needs and their families.  Applicants should demonstrate flexibility in providing professional work in a variety of settings; ie. homes, daycares, self-contained preschool classrooms, co-taught preschool classrooms, and community-based preschool environments.  The ECSE teacher often provides oversight of a classroom paraprofessional(s), and networks closely with all related services professionals including community agencies.  The position includes all duties of an ECSE teacher, including special education evaluations and ongoing assessments; training will be provided as needed.

Bldg Assessment/Tech Supp Specialist

Job Summary:
– Respond to Ongoing technology needs for staff
– Build and maintain positive relationships with the building community, including staff and students
– Use a strong understanding of instructional technology to best meet the learning needs of all students
– Manage building printers, including troubleshooting and installing drivers
– SMART board configuration and troubleshooting
– Support set up for event programming such as A/V equipment
– Assist with generating messaging through the Blackboard system
– Work with district technology staff to coordinate building technology requests
– Manage building technology inventory
– Attend relevant district trainings and meetings
– Coordinate and manage laptop/iPad/Chromebook carts
– Provide staff training on technology
– Technology ordering as needed, approved by the principal
– Set up and run daily video announcements
– Coordinate student involvement in announcements
– Assisting teachers in maintaining teacher web pages
– Testing technology coordination

Other functions of the job include but are not limited to:
– Meeting staff needs in a timely and proactive manner
– Join all staff in welcoming and dismissing students each day
– Provide building-level technology support for staff and students.
