Early Childhood Services Coordinator

The St. Croix River Education District is committed to maximizing student outcomes for all learners through the use of data-based decision making, meaningful collaboration, and implementation of innovative, evidence-based practices.  We are seeking highly motivated and skilled candidates for an Early Childhood Services Coordinator position beginning the 2020-21 school year. This position will primarily support the Chisago Lakes School District and North Branch Area Public Schools.

The Early Childhood Services Coordinator provides support to SCRED member district Early Childhood teachers, by engaging in the following primary activities:

  • Provide technical assistance on legal and regulatory compliance Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) service delivery and due process requirements
  • Assist districts in designing or refining a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework through the use of evidence-based instructional practices
  • Provide coaching for Reading Corps and the Pyramid Model in participating districts
  • Develop and facilitate professional learning opportunities for member district staff using effective adult learning strategies
  • Provide consultation for individual students as well as programmatic enhancements
  • Support individual teachers and building level teams with the use of data-based decision making practices using Teaching Strategies Gold assessment data
  • Conduct birth through five screenings in response to Help Me Grow referrals and share pertinent screening information with school-based team
  • Promote the implementation of best practice in Early Childhood Screening within member districts
  • Assist in the interdisciplinary assessment of children with disabilities aged birth to six who are not responding to special education services
  • Facilitate interagency collaboration through existing coordination opportunities (e.g., regional IEIC, Chisago and Pine County Early Childhood Committees)
  • This position requires a high level of collaboration and problem-solving with other service coordinator areas as well as school psychologists, program administrators/coordinators, and special services supervisors.

Elementary Head Principal

This principal position oversees both the Franklin Elementary and Montessori at Franklin educational programs.

The Elementary Principal leads the delivery of educational programs, operations, personnel, and financial resources within the building to ensure that District policies are followed, District and state standards are achieved, and that the educational needs of all students are met.

Job Summary: Fosters high student achievement and provides learning experiences which help all students meet or exceed the Minnesota standards.
Develops a safe and welcoming learning environment where all individuals are respected.
Collaborates with building and District personnel to implement curriculum and instructional programs that support learning opportunities for all students.
Coordinates the involvement of various building stakeholders–staff, parents/guardians, students–in the development and implementation of policies that enhance opportunities for students.
Conducts classroom observations and evaluates the effectiveness of staff.
Develops building processes and procedures dealing with student learning and behavior.
Develops and administers the approved building budget and staffing.
Makes decisions relating to human resources within the building, including but not limited to hiring, discipline, training and development, performance appraisal, and related activities.
Is an integral member of the District leadership team, serving on building, district, and community committees.
Develops and directs the preparation of building emergency procedures and responses with District personnel.
Supports the maintenance and improvement of the school plant, facilities, and equipment.
Monitors the completion of reports, records, and communications required by the District and State.
Performs other duties as apparent or assigned.

Senior High School Head Principal

Director of Educational Services

Job Summary:

Oversees and directs curriculum and instruction for all educational programs in the District.  Supervises and directs the work of building level administrators that support the District’s Area Learning Centers, Career and Technical Center, Care and Treatment programs along with the Teaching and Learning team.  Provides district-wide leadership as a member of the superintendent’s cabinet.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and directs principals and teaching and learning staff including training, monitoring, coaching, mentoring, evaluating and discipline in accordance with district, state, federal and department policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the District’s English Language Learning teachers and program including decisions on program development and procedures related to EL services.
    Develops sustainable systems for the delivery of curriculum, instruction and assessment for all district programs.
  • Directs, creates, and assesses all district professional development including the approval and creation of all curriculum work and purchases, equity activities, and plans for assessment of student learning.
  • Leads the District Equity Leadership Team and advises district and program leadership on equity related issues.
  • Leads the District Q-Comp plan including budget oversight, providing guidance and collaborating with the human resources department on the District’s evaluation system.
  • Coordinates, facilitates and acts as a liason with member district leadership including creating and directing plans for district networking meetings.
  • Implements and monitors board approved contracts, policies and procedures related to educational services program.  Assists and provides input into the development of new policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the development of budgetary assumptions for budget planning.  Develops a proposed budget within the parameters. Oversees the accounting and monitoring of approved budgets.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
