Qualifications:  Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration preferred, with successful experience in financial management and accounting in a school setting also preferred

District Highlights:  Independent School District 318 covers approximately 2,200 square miles and is located in northern Minnesota in Itasca County, which is geographically the third largest county in the state of Minnesota.  The area is known for its natural beauty, outdoor recreation, and strong sense of community.   The District has a $70 million budget and 4,000 students that are educated in facilities located in Grand Rapids, Bigfork, and Cohasset. The schools and staff have won regional and national awards and the District has state of the art technology, supportive parents and community, and 2018 passage of a bond referendum to build two elementary schools and renovate and expand another.

Fillmore Central Schools is seeking applicants for a .6 (minimum) Superintendent of Schools beginning July 1, 2020. Fillmore Central is located 35 miles southeast of Rochester in the scenic bluff country of southeast Minnesota. We serve a student population of approximately 600 students from in and around the communities of Preston, Harmony, and Fountain. We employ 52.5 FTE certified staff and approximately 70 non-certified staff. Food service and transportation services are contracted through 3rd party vendors.

Our Preston building site houses daycare, preschool, and K-6 students. Students in grades 7-12 attend our Harmony site. All buildings and sites have been well maintained and recently updated.

The district office is located in the Preston building. We employ a full-time business manager and a full-time bookkeeper. The district has an operating budget of approximately $8 million and is in a positive financial position with a positive undesignated fund balance.
