Child Behavior and Family Support Specialist

Position:  Child Behavior and Family Support Specialist

II. REPORTS TO: Elementary Principal and Associate Principal.

III. POSITION GOALS:
To provide increased support to families, students and staff related to student behavior.  To support and aid in the development and implementation of the school-wide behavior intervention system.  To assist with daily student behavior/discipline, and staff training/development.

IV. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform as the lead employee to successfully accomplish the job responsibilities associated with the Behavior Specialist role.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

V. JUDGMENT REQUIRED:

  • Ability to determine, prioritize, schedule, and complete complex job assignments and projects without supervision and within the time allocated.
  • Ability to operate independently and effectively while following established procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to anticipate and/or recognize problems and/or complications and to determine and implement practical corrective solutions to problems and issues.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately with individuals regardless of socioeconomic status.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills when completing unique or complex job assignments.
  • Ability to determine what is confidential and proprietary information and how to use that information in a proper manner.
  • Ability to communicate positively about the school district at all times.

VI. WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Perform under normal classroom conditions where there are minimal negative environmental factors.
  • Perform within moderate noise levels with frequent interruptions.
  • Perform at moderate to high pace for extended periods of time.
  • Perform in a school environment with professionalism and proficiency.

VIII. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring school-wide behavior intervention system (PBIS) to improve student academic and behavior outcomes.
  • Training and coaching of staff on behavior management strategies.
  • Managing student discipline issues and facilitating re-entry conferences for suspended students.
  • Ensuring the safety of all students as part of the administrative team.
  • Facilitating and serving on data teams and committees as assigned by the Associate Principal or Director of Elementary Instruction.
  • Planning, conducting and attending meetings with students, staff, parents, and community.
  • Serving as designee for the district at school and at professional and public meetings as necessary.
  • Serving as a member of student support teams.
  • Meeting supervisors to implement behavior systems.
  • Monitoring student attendance and discipline.
  • Assisting administration with coordination of services with outside agencies for students and families.
    Serving as liaison to Dakota County for truancy and other law enforcement agencies when necessary.
    Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Superintendent of Schools or district administrator.

Technology Specialist 2

The Technology Specialist 2 is responsible for installation standard configuration, documentation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and administration of WAN/LAN, Firewall, and Wi-Fi for the District. Monitors network usage and traffic to ensure efficient, reliable system access and data exchange; trains and assists site support personnel in network operating systems, application systems, and in the administration of networks; assists with the analysis of requests for new LAN/WAN applications from district personnel.

The Technology Specialist 2 plays an intricate role within education technology.  This would include creating & maintaining learning resources including tutorials and videos that support classroom technology as well as evaluating & recommending technology resources in the classroom.  This would also include assisting staff with creative and innovative classroom technology integration.
The Technology Specialist 2 is responsible for the configuration and administration of G Suite for Education to include, but not limited to Chromebooks, Google Drive, Classroom, Gmail, & Sites.  This would also include hosting professional development for all staff on the Google suite of products.
The Technology Specialist 2 is responsible for configuration, backup, and maintenance of the wired and wireless networks.
The Technology Specialist 2 is responsible for configuration, backup, and maintenance of the iPad mobile device management.
The Technology Specialist 2 will also administer all aspects of the Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) telecommunications system.
The Technology Specialist 2 is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the District Web Site utilizing rSchool Today.
The Technology Specialist 2 is also responsible to assist and train building Technology Specialists on the use of all technology hardware & software.

Confidential Superintendent & Human Resources Secretary

General Definition of Work:

Performs difficult and intermediate skilled administrative support work providing high level, confidential and administrative support for the Superintendent, members of the School Board, including, but not limited to assisting in the development and assembly of meetings and agendas, attendance at all Board meetings, preparing and publishing minutes and resolutions, screening callers and greeting visitors, managing calendars, providing assistance in resolving and addressing routine issues and problems not requiring the Superintendent, providing coordination and scheduling of workshops, meetings and special events, making travel arrangements and maintaining and organizing confidential records, reports and files, and related work as apparent or assigned. Individual must be a positive representative for district. Performs administrative support work organizing the activities office, preparing and maintaining fiscal, eligibility and other activity related records, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is performed under the general direction of the Superintendent and Business Manager. The final evaluation is the responsibility of the Superintendent.

Health Assistant – Special Ed Para

Job Description

Twin Cities Academy  is seeking a full time middle school/high school 0.5 FTE Health Assistant combined with a 0.5 FTE Special Education Paraprofessional (position can be flexible to less that full time if needed).

Health Assistant position supports all students in the health office including dispensing medications, treating minor injuries and ensuring health plans for students are implemented properly. The Special Education Paraprofessional position supports the general education classrooms and helps the classroom teacher meet the needs of Special Education students in that classroom under the guidance of the case manager.

Special Education Teacher – Early Childhood Special Education
