Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Long-Term Substitute Early Childhood Teacher to join our team for the remainder of the school year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, a strong understanding of child development, and the ability to create a positive and engaging classroom environment for young learners. As a substitute teacher, you will be responsible for implementing lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a classroom of early childhood students, creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
Implement and adapt lesson plans based on the curriculum provided, ensuring that educational activities are age-appropriate and promote development in all areas.
Support the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child through individualized attention and group activities.
Monitor students’ progress and provide feedback to parents, caregivers, and school leadership.
Maintain clear communication with parents, guardians, and staff regarding student behavior, progress, and any concerns.
Follow school policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols.
Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administrators to ensure a cohesive and supportive school community.
Maintain a positive classroom culture that fosters respect, responsibility, and a love of learning.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field (preferred).
Valid teaching certification in Early Childhood Education (or eligibility for certification, as required by state).
Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education best practices.
Ability to create and implement engaging lesson plans and activities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt to different learning styles.
Flexibility and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families.

English Learner Instructional Coach (TOSA)

Responsibilities

Professional Development and TrainingParticipate in professional development planning. Coach and provide support to teachers in evidence-based practices to support multilingual learners.
Support the Director of Equity to facilitate the K-12 implementation of the WIDA ELD standards, progress monitoring, and instructional practices rooted in evidence-based practices
Provide leadership, plan and facilitate site team meetings and curriculum development sessions
Instructional Coaching

Provide leadership, plan and facilitate site team meetings and curriculum development sessions
Enhance teachers’ understanding of cultural awareness rooted in Culturally Proficient School Systems (CPSS) and the application of instructional strategies that optimize learning and maintain high standards for multilingual learners
Works strategically with teachers with rostered English Learners (ELs) in planning, monitoring and assessing student learning and reflecting on their teaching
Regularly visits classrooms to provide feedback to teachers to improve instructional planning, delivery, and assessment, including planning for ongoing monitoring and support for the successful language acquisition

Superintendent of Schools

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop (GFW) Public Schools is seeking a Superintendent as of July 1, 2025.
Candidates must possess licensure as a Superintendent in the State of Minnesota or demonstrate their
ability to secure licensure by July 1, 2025. Previous experience as a superintendent is preferred but not
required.

The GFW Schools Office is located in Gibbon, Minnesota approximately 65 miles southwest of Eden
Prairie. The GFW School District serves the communities of Gibbon, Fairfax and Winthrop. It serves
approximately 590 students in PreK-12th grade programs. There is a new K-12 building under
construction, with the intent to move into the new facility sometime during the 2025-2026 school year.

Business Manager

Responsibilities include managing the recording of all financial transactions with the District to include payroll, accounts payable, and investment of District assets. SALARY/CONTRACT:  A competitive compensation and benefits package, with a starting salary range of $110,000 – $130,000, will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications. Contract length is negotiable as provided in Minnesota statute. Additional benefits available may include Health Insurance, HSA, Dental, 403b, among others.
