Full-time (1.0 FTE) Special Education DCD-MM Teacher / Academic Behavior Specialist at Roosevelt Elementary School This position commences on August 27, 2018 with the start of the 2018-19 school year.
Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. The school district currently serves approximately 3,700 students in Faribault and our surrounding areas within our community of 23,000 citizens within the city limits. District sites include one early childhood center, three elementary schools K-5, one middle school 6-8, one high school 9-12, one area learning center 9-12 and one education center for adult education.

Required Qualifications:
1. Current MN License in EBD or ABS;
2. Extensive experience in working with multi-categorical groups and case management;
3. Excellent collaboration skills and communication skills;
4. Knowledge of due process in the areas of evaluation and educational planning;
5. Experience with Positive Behavioral Intervention Systems, Crisis Prevention Intervention training, conducting Functional Behavior Assessments, and writing Behavior Intervention Plans;
6. Ability to perform job duties with or without accommodations.
Desired Qualifications:
1. Highly qualified per NCLB in Language Arts, Reading, and/or Math;
2. Computer and data management proficiency.

Required Qualifications:
1. Current Minnesota Teaching License in DCD, ASD, or ABS;
2. Extensive experience in working with multi-categorical groups and secondary case management;
3. Knowledge of due process in the areas of evaluation and educational planning, including the areas of transition (Employment, Post-Secondary Education & Training, & Independent Living Skills);
4. Experience with Positive Behavioral Intervention Systems, Crisis Prevention Intervention training, conducting Functional Behavior Assessments, and writing Behavior Intervention Plans for students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
5. Experience supervising paraprofessionals in the educational and community settings;
6. Excellent collaboration skills and communication skills;
7. Ability to perform job duties with or without accommodations.
Desired Qualifications:
1. Computer and data management proficiency;
2. Experience working with young adults in an 18-21 year old transition program or high school transition-skills-based setting;
3. Experience developing curriculum to teach pre-vocational skills and work readiness;
4. Experience writing transition and graduation plans for students with disabilities;
5. Experience with interagency collaboration and coordinated services.
