Edina Public Schools has a full time Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) – Personalized/Digital Learning Coach position available at the District Office beginning August 2018.  The Personalized Learning Coach position will assist with all aspects of the development and implementation of personalized learning and the integration of technology to achieve the district’s mission and strategic plans.  Specifically this position will identify and implement personalized learning strategies through the use of technologies and digital resources that help increase effectiveness of instruction, create efficiencies in operational practices and increase opportunities for learning.

Summary of Job Duties:  The Academic Specialist will work within the 9th Grade Academy at Faribault High School.  The primary purpose of the Academic Specialist is to improve the academic achievement of all students through targeted interventions.  Three classes per day will be spent in the Academy classrooms working with students and teachers, two classes per day will be spent collecting and analyzing academy data to plan and implement targeted interventions.

Essential Functions:Serve as a member of the 9th Grade Academy team
Re-teach academic content in the areas of English, Science and Social Studies in small groups
Analyze data to assist in creation and implementation of individual learning plans.
Work with the Academy Coordinator to organize and facilitate team meetings
Assist with academy newsletter and communication efforts
Analyze data to plan and implement targeted interventions
Work with students during after school program.
Collaborate through PLC with Academy Teachers
Monitor and communicate student progress with students, families, administrators, and staff
Monitor and communicate weekly assignments, activities and assessments with academy teachers and families.
Monitor student attendance and communicate with parents as necessary
Stay current with best practices research and strategies
Other duties as assigned
