Mounds Park Academy is a PreK-12 independent school in Saint Paul that serves approximately 500 students from throughout the Twin Cities area. For 34 years, Mounds Park Academy has engaged students in a rigorous college preparatory experience that is demanding, but not draining, and goes far beyond memorization. Grades K-8 Extended Day Assistant: This is a part time (12 month) position working with students in K-Grade 8 after school, on school release days, and during the summer.  The ideal candidate should be able to work as part of a team,  supervise and work well with students, and effectively communicate with parents. In addition, this candidate should also have the ability to plan and implement interactive activities for children  The candidate must be committed to the MPA philosophy. This position is not eligible for benefits.

 

Special Education Instructional Coach

1. Work with special education leadership team to develop, coordinate, and deliver professional growth activities in content/program areas;
2. Provide one-on-one teacher assistance in content/program areas;
3. Provide focused, sustained training that assists teachers in meeting data-driven. collaboratively determined instructional goals in content/program areas;
4. Interface with all appropriate personnel to ensure program coordination, implementation in content/program areas and student success;
5. Participate in professional development as required to perform and improve required skills in content/program areas;
6. Participate in curriculum development and revisions in content/program areas;
7. Assist teachers in obtaining instructional materials for curriculum development and implementation;
8. Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Kindergarten Teacher

This position is for Long Term Sub in a 4th grade general education classroom teacher. The duties include but are not limited to: literacy, math, science, social studies, and art instruction. Teachers are also expected to assess, monitor and adapt their instruction based on the individual needs of students. Teachers also participate in PLCs and work with peers to enhance their instructional ability and to support each other.

Career Coach-District Assessment Coordinator

Reading Specialist and School Advocate

Position description:
The Advocate and Reading Specialist builds the capacity of districts, schools, and charters to engage in continuous improvement, to implement the World’s Best Workforce legislation and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The ultimate goal of this position is to close achievement gaps, while increasing achievement and graduation rates for all student groups. This is a year-round, full-time position.

Reading Specialist Competencies:

  • extensive knowledge of Minnesota’s Academic Standards for English Language Arts, current reading research and evidence-based practices, and proven methods for implementing theory into practice
  • experience with [ELA] standards implementation processes (e.g., unpacking standards, curriculum alignment, standards-aligned assessments) to support educators in teaching within a standards-based educational system
  • ability to support evidence-based practices in reading instruction and assessment in core content areas, supplemental programs, intensive intervention, and out of school programs to build the capacity of school staff to increase student achievement for all students in PK-12 reading, writing, language arts and English instruction
  • ability to share expertise to interpret diagnostic reading, writing, and oral language assessments and make instructional recommendations based on current best practices and appropriate tools for specific situations
