Kindergarten Teacher

Performs difficult professional work providing instruction ensuring all students within the academic discipline area learn and achieve academic excellence, achieve self mastery and social competency and develop their own missions (purpose) and vision for a positive future and an environment favorable to learning, teaching a broad range of subjects or specialized subject matter(s), teaching special needs students, motivating students to achieve maximum potential, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the building Principal. Skills Needed: Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching. Knowledge of students’ emotional and cognitive learning development, academic discipline areas and curriculum development. Excellent skills in developing and presenting ideas effectively both verbally and in written form. Work with students to gain independence and motivate students to achieve maximum potential. Instruct, monitor, and supervise students. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff. Exemplifies the following Five Character Traits: compassion, respect, responsibility, self discipline and honesty. Specific Tasks: Provide an ideal, positive learning environment, instruct students in individual or group sessions, develop, translate and integrate lesson plans, and establish positive relationships. All duties and responsibilities commensurate with an elementary teacher.
