Job summary:  To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by coordinating, under the direction of the Assistant Principal, the activities, procedures, and supervision in general, of secondary students.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

Assists principal in the overall administration of the school;
Performs as a resource for teachers and staff who express concerns for student attendance, student development and/or discipline;
Coordinates efforts with counselors, police liaison officer(s), school psychologist, and/or social worker in meeting with students and parents to discuss improving student attendance, behavior and academic performance;
Consults with families via conference or communication systems concerning student attendance, behavior and academic performance;
Resolves student behavior concerns in a fair and timely manner and maintains records of disciplinary or referral actions taken;
Closely monitors the physical plant of the schools and grounds and follows-up on student vandalism;
Assists in the interpretation of school district programs relating to student substance abuse and truancy;
Makes recommendations for appropriate revisions of policies and rules effecting student behavior;
Assists in discussing strategies to improve student performance, attendance and development;
Assists in developing and administering practices dealing with campus control and security;
Maintains active relationships with parents, families and students;
Assists in establishing rules governing students sent to the in-school suspension/detention room;
Responds to written and oral communication regarding student development and discipline matters;
Serves as a member of such committees and attends such meetings as directed by the principal;
Assumes responsibility when all administrators are out of the building;
Performs other tasks and assumes responsibilities within the overall scope of the position which the principal may assign.

Work schedule: Contract length 200 days

Parent Engagement Coordinator (Districtwide)

Parent Engagement Coordinator (Districtwide)

Position is scheduled for 220 days per academic year paying $30.23 per hour; preferred working schedule of 8 hours per day, will consider part-time or job sharing opportunities for the right candidate(s).

The position will play a vital role in fostering a strong and collaborative relationship between Faribault Public Schools and our families. This coordinator will help lead, develop and implement creative strategies to increase parental involvement and parent voice across all Faribault Public Schools, serving as a bridge between parents, teachers, and school administration, while ensuring effective communication and collaboration that benefit student success.  This is a grant-funded position, with funding support guaranteed through at least the 2025-26 school year.

Essential Functions: Work with building principals and FACES (Family And Community Engagement Specialist) to organize ongoing parent listening sessions and/or parent councils at each school
Organize and facilitate workshops, events, and meetings for parents on a variety of topics related to their child’s education, such as curriculum, social-emotional learning, and technology tools
Provide technical assistance, support, and training to principals and FACES on parent engagement, including in leading listening sessions and parent councils
Document key themes and recommendations shared by parents to improve experiences in Faribault Public Schools; record progress made in addressing these themes and recommendations over time
Identify and address barriers that may prevent parents from being involved in their child’s education
Work with the Director of Teaching & Learning to coordinate the District Advisory Committee
Help recruit and support parents serving on school district committees, work groups, task forces, and other bodies
Work with Student Success Coordinator to provide ongoing support to the FACES, including holding regular meetings with FACES to hear about their work, challenges they are facing, and supports needed
Assist with the organizing and implementing an annual professional development plan for the FACES
Assist with the scheduling and coordination of Centralized Registration
Complete required data tracking and evaluation implementation
Stay up-to-date on best practices in parent engagement
Assist with all required grant reports

Special Projects Manager (Districtwide)

The Special Projects Manager will be responsible for planning, executing and finalizing projects according to grant and budget parameters. The role requires a combination of strong leadership, organizational abilities, and communication skills to coordinate team efforts and ensure successful projects.
